OCZ updates firmware across their SSD lines

Yesterday OCZ announced firmware updates to version 1.10 for all of their Sandforce-based SSD drives including the Agility2, Vertex2, Agility2E, and Vertex2E. On the Indilinx side of things they announced firmware version 1.6 for all their Indilinx-based drives, such as the Agility, Vertex, Onyx, Solid 2, and Vertex TURBO.

The changelogs are not well known yet. Sandforce has been scarce on the details; OCZ has mentioned “Improved handling of TRIM” and “Fixed minor S.M.A.R.T. bugs”. More likely, this move was made to bring all OCZ Sandforce-based drives onto the same firmware level for ease of future platform upgrades.

OCZ has an Install guide for both the Sandforce and Indilinx updates on their forums.

Zuntar If I flash my Agility 60Gb drive from V1.5 to V1.6, does that affect the files that are on the drive? Ryder? Sir?
  2. Ryder
Ryder No, it should not, I have flashed all 4 I have here without losing anything. Still recommend your backups are up to date though.
