Palm announced yesterday that it has begun deploying v1.3.5 of webOS, the operating system which powers the company’s Pixi and Pre smartphones.
Enhancements in the new ROM include:
- Improved battery life in low coverage areas;
- A fix for QCELP that allows users to play audio and video received via MMS;
- Download support on 2G connections;
- The ability to launch mapping applications by tapping an address in the address book;
- Improved App Catalog searching and downloading;
- More consistent Palm Pixi performance;
- and expanded onboard storage space to hold hundreds of additional applications.
The update has begun automatic deployment, and users will be notified when the update is ready for installation on their handsets.
