It often seems that no one can function without some sort of mobile device at their fingertips, but when it comes to purchasing a that new phone, tablet or laptop it can be well nigh impossible to get accurate information on battery performance. Enter Powermark V1.2.0.
Already available for the benchmarking of Windows 7-based laptops, Futuremark’s power benchmarking tool provides battery life projections across a range of standardised usage patterns designed to reflect “real world” performance but in a controlled, reproducible manner. The recent Windows 8 update takes these same tests to a plethora of new devices and provides a simple, independent metric for prospective purchasers to be on the look out for when purchasing any Window 8 device from ultrabook to tablet.
Future Icrontic reviews of mobile devices will feature Powermark benchmarks.
