Capcom has just released their latest installment in the Resident Evil series, a second downloadable content episode for the horror survival game Resident Evil 5, entitled Desperate Escape. The DLC is can be found on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

The Tricell facility

Jill and Josh survey the Tricell facility

The story picks up with our combat-savvy heroine Jill Valentine as well as Josh Stone, and continues from the previous events in the Resident Evil 5 story. Having been recently freed from a mind-enslaving machine, Jill awakens to find BSAA agent Josh Stone. Under the cover of night, they must work together in order to escape a dark fate inside the Tricell facility. Barring their path are waves of fiends hell-bent on preventing Jill and Josh from re-uniting with Chris and Sheva, with a climatic encounter against Albert Wesker to punctuate the experience.

Added features also bring a little extra sparkle to the DLC. Shiny extras include new costumes for the original Resident Evil 5 campaign—Costume Pack 2, as it’s called, includes Chris’ “Heavy Metal” costume as well as Sheva’s “Business” attire. Also included are the remaining four of eight characters available for the challenging Mercenaries Reunion minigame, each with their own unique weapon sets.

Those who don’t already own a copy of Resident Evil 5 may want to consider picking up Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Retailing for $49.99, it will get you the original Resident Evil 5 game as well as all available DLC, including Desperate Escape. PS3 owners will get it all on a single Blu-Ray disc, while 360 folks will get the original RE5 DVD and a token to download the additional content. Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition launches tomorrow on March 9th.

    Trumandrummer Cool,
    Ill have to get it.

Hopefully there is a lot more action than there was Lost in Nightmares.

kryyst Cool. I passed when RE5 first came out but I may have to pick up the gold edition, for $49 it's cheaper to buy it then picking up RE5 used and paying for the DLC. My biggest complaint to RE5 is the new game save way. The save point feature in RE4 was vastly superior.

    Trumandrummer I agree Kryyst.....

I miss the typewriter save points from RE4....
And the Merchant that you purchased upgrades/guns from.

A lot of people did not like RE5. I will admit that it is not as good as RE4 in terms of gameplay.
But I still think that its a great game.
