Samsung installs mobile charging stations at colleges and universities

Samsung announced yesterday that they have added over 30 mobile charging stations to nine colleges and universities in the US this year, bringing the total installed base to 77 across 18 campuses since 2009. The new colleges include Brown University, Florida State University, Northwestern University, Syracuse University, The University of Miami, The University of New Hampshire, The University of New Mexico, University of Northern Iowa and The University of Utah.

The mobile charging stations are kiosks that are outfitted with eight electrical outlets, and there is no fee to use them. The charging stations will be installed in student unions and at on-campus sporting venues.

To promote the stations, Samsung Mobile is having a photo contest from April 17th to May 15th on their Facebook page.
