An ongoing chronology located at the collaborative debugging website known as pastebin has indicated that Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin may have had her email accounts compromised. In what has become an unlikely collaboration between the chans, a divided group of anonymous posters accredited with many popular memes and the War on Scientology, it appears that addresses for handling both the public and private affairs of Alaska were hacked.
The chronology recounts the story as is known thus far, including details of the hack, images of the compromised account and other proof of authenticity. The post claims that not only were private emails gathered, but the private cellular number of Palin’s daughter Bristol as well. Apparently notified of the breach early in today’s morning hours, the email accounts have been closed and purged. While this may or may not represent a destruction of evidence in the ongoing Alaskan investigation into the alleged “Troopergate” scandal, many of the account’s details have been saved for posterity.
The chan sites, of which there are dozens, are furiously moderating the pace of discussion if not dissemination of the details. It is believed that the proof gathered in the archives being surreptitiously distributed do much to validate the authenticity of the initial claims.
As a majority of what is unfolding is being confined to Rapidshare or actively policed by chan site administration, further details of these events may be under the radar or already purged.
