Sony and Microsoft confirm dates for E3 press conference

Sony's E3 Press Conference 2011

It is that time of year where E3 news slowly starts to creep its way in. Microsoft and Sony have confirmed their presser dates for E3 2012. Both companies will hold their press conferences on June 4, 2012 to announce the latest and greatest in video gaming and entertainment technology.

Microsoft will have their press conference first, at 10:00AM PDT. They have already announced that they will not reveal the next generation console at this year’s E3. So what they will show us? Last year Microsoft showcased the Kinect as they demonstrated Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Mass Effect 3, and Fable: The Journey.

Sony will once again will take place at the Memorial Sports Arena starting at 6:00pm PDT. The PlayStation Vita was the main focus last year, along with Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and BioShock Infinite with PlayStation Move support.

There is no set date for Nintendo right now. But early news has been reported by a Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, and confirmed by Shigeru Miyamoto that Super Mario 4 will be shown for the Wii U.

Who do you think will have the most impressive press conference this year?

AlexDeGruven It's going to be difficult to say who's going to be the best of the group this year. Nintendo really nailed it last year with the Wii-U demo and the symphonic Zelda. Sony had the after-party that everyone loved, and I didn't see Microsoft's, since (like many) I wasn't invited.

In 2010, Microsoft stole the show by giving everyone in the audience the newly-redesigned 360, but I doubt something like that will come along again.

I'd like to see Nintendo give a date for the Wii-U (probably before Christmas if they're smart), and Sony maybe make an announcement for the next console.

Maybe Microsoft will be announcing a portable of some sort? Or maybe some kind of huge partnership that hasn't been thought of. It's hard for me to imagine them doing a big presser without at least SOMETHING worth saying.

Chooch Yeah, somehow Microsoft hates me or something. All the years I have been going to E3, I have never been invited for their press conference.

I am really interested to hear what all 3 have to offer for the next year.
