Bringing itself in line with other carriers, Sprint announced recently that it has cut the price on its mobile broadband service by $10 to $59.99.
Sprint’s WWAN service offers truly unlimited 4G bandwidth, but caps users who consume EV-DO bandwidth to 5GB per month, or what AT&T and Verizon Wireless bill as “unlimited.”
Available in select cities in Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Washington, Idaho, North Carolina, Illinois, Hawaii, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Oregon, Sprint’s 4G service is sourced from Clearwire, a mobile WiMAX outfit in which Sprint owns a majority stake.
Speaking to FierceWireless, Sprint spokeswoman Stephanie Vinge noted that the price cut reflected “increasing economies of scale” as the firm’s 4G service enters more markets.
