Steam launches huge sale to celebrate holidays

feature

In the spirit of giving, Steam is running a huge sale to celebrate the holidays.

The event includes a persistent price slash on many publishers’ titles, including big names like 2K games, Eidos, Ubisoft, Rockstar, and more. Savings range from 25% to as much as 80% and will be available until January 3rd, 2010.

To keep the sale fresh and interesting, a daily set of extra sales is also being run. If the title was already on sale as part of the above list, its price gets dropped even further, making it a fantastic time to pick up games you’ve wanted, but haven’t wanted to pay a lot for. December 22nd’s title list includes Defense Grid: The Awakening, Mirror’s Edge, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Icrontic will be maintaining a list of Steam’s daily holiday deals here.

Go get them while they’re hot!

GnomeWizardd torchlight is 9 bucks and so is trine Highly recommend both games, Also Braid which as a high Meta score is only 3 bucks!
  2. Snarkasm
Snarkasm Braid and Trine are fantastic. Is Torchlight anything but a dungeon crawler? I never really got into that game style.
  3. Thrax

+1 ... I don't have any cash that I should be spending on games right now but I might have toooooooo
  6. chrisWhite
chrisWhite Yeah, Steam's killing me here.
  7. GooD
GooD Just got my hands on a big bunch of new games to play with... lol
  8. chrisWhite
chrisWhite So I now have quite a backlog of games from the black friday sales, is GTA4 one I need to pick up now or is it a good one to take another look at when things get slow again?
  9. QuadWhore
QuadWhore Looks like Steam's going to take away those new pickups for my guitar that I wanted... but the games are sooo cheap!

    I must buy! D:

-Note- Steam knows how to brainwash, eh?
  10. Snarkasm
Snarkasm Seriously, Valve knows what's up. They release numbers every now and again - back when they did a 50% off sale on the original L4D game, sales went up 1600%, I think. They know people respond to sales and low prices.

Howdy, Stranger!
