Over the past few weeks, Icrontic has extensively discussed the corporate and consumer relevancy of cloud computing given its infancy. The general concensus has been that yielding information to external control is a source of worry both for privacy and the integrity of the data. It is well-known that enterprise is much more fond of the cloud in spite of a slow trend back towards centralized Big Iron. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, on the other hand, remains skeptical of cloud computing even if the reasons aren’t terribly altruistic.
In the Google-powered translation (irony?) of a visit to Brazil, Ballmer remained hesitant on the power of the cloud. With angry slaps at Google, pay-per-use and mobile content, it’s clear that Ballmer is not convinced on its staying power or merit in the minds of consumers.
