Game devs are already jumping on board the iPad-as-a-gaming-platform train. Tapulous, the makers of the popular iPhone game Tap Tap Revenge and its spinoffs, has announced a new iPad-only game called Tap Tap Radiation.
Tap Tap Radiation is a rhythm game similar to Guitar Hero and its ilk, where you tap “notes” that appear on screen in time with the music. Tapulous hopes that the increased screen real estate and processing power of the iPad will enable a new generation of serious gaming experiences.
The game is free, with 30 tracks from various artists, but the kicker is the in-game music store, which is where the revenue stream is: Premium tracks from A-list artists such as Lady Gaga, Tiesto, Benny Benassi, and Pink.
At launch, Tap Tap Radiation includes 33 tracks adapted specifically for the game, including 12 Wives in Tehran by Serge Devant; I Like That by Richard Vission; Quiet Dog by Mos Def; and Lions by The Features.
