Tatsunoko Vs Capcom site updated; ready for release

The official website for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom has been updated to prepare for the release of the Wii-exclusive game. Updates to the site include the revelation of the full character roster, and the unlocking of the “System” section of the website. The game is scheduled to hit store shelves tomorrow.

The System section explains all of the details needed for understanding the gameplay mechanics of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. There is a guide that displays the controls for the game if played on either the Wiimote or the Wii Classic Controller, as well as a rundown of all of the features in the game. Perhaps the most significant portion of the website is the detailed explanations of the Fighting Systems, which elaborate on the techniques used while playing the game. To assist in explaining the nuances of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom’s fighting techniques are example videos that show the methods in action.

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is the seventh installment in Capcom’s acclaimed “Vs.” series. Following in the footsteps of Marvel Vs. Capcom and Capcom Vs. SNK, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom retains the classic high-speed, combo heavy tag-team gameplay that its predecessors refined while adding many classic anime characters from the legendary animation studio Tatsunoko. The game is being released only for the Nintendo Wii.

Bandrik Jeez, Lynx, you may be taking this "weeaboo" thing a little too far.

Just kidding. My roommate Marvin just picked up this game last night at the midnight launch. He's a huge fighting game goon, and it's going to get a lot of plays this weekend when we go to the anime convention, "Ohayocon". When they're not playing that, they'll be mashing up Marvel Vs. Capcom and the Guilty Gear games.

Me? I still don't know how to play these games, so I'm stuck watching.

primesuspect Bandrik, it's easy: Just mash A and move the stick back and forth really quick.

lol. dont mislead him now, he still has to wiggle the stick around especially if he is fighting a technical fighter like Lynx.

On a more serious note, Capcom has once again implemented "Easy Operation" (Eo) mode to this game for people stuck playing on a wiimote + nunchuck (or if you just suck. depending on how you want to look at it). Hitting "A" a bunch of times is quite a valid strategy in Eo mode.

primesuspect Perry can usually beat lynx by pushing "Y" a lot, so...you know.. he might not even have to wiggle the stick.

UPSLynx Don't get me started on Mega Man. As SOON as I found him out, and when he switches up, that's when the tables turn.

Single button fireball spamming is no laughing matter.

Not only that, but apparently Frank West of Dead Rising fame is a playable character. We haven't unlocked him but I can only imagine. I expect him to play like the Resident Evil characters and suddenly pull zombies out of nowhere to hurl at the enemy. Or maybe he fights with a frying pan and a baseball bat and takes a picture of you as a taunt.

    Either way, West is awesome.

Edit: Holy crap was I close. Yes, he can summon zombies that apparently fall down on top of your opponent. He can call in a shopping cart, slams with a giant baseball bat, and the best part? One of his supers is swapping into a Mega Man costume and fires his Buster Cannon. Incredible!

UPSLynx I did see that clip of West before I wrote this, I considered including it in the draft. I love that he throws shopping carts WITH ZOMBIES at his opponant.

Howdy, Stranger!
