Valve is at it again. In their inimitable style, the studio has suggested that the next TF2 class to receive updates will actually be the Soldier and the Demoman. As you might expect, the announcement was not made in any kind of release, but rather stated through a comic.
DO WANT TF2 COMIC
In an interesting twist, the comic displays the wonderfully caricatured face of “The Administrator”, better known as the woman’s voice you hear cackling over the loudspeaker making announcements during TF2 games. The comic tells of a friendship that has come between the Blu Soldier and Red Demoman. Sensing the problems that could arise from this new found friendship, The Administrator announces that the infamous Saxton Hale is to be contracted to create weapons where cost is not an object. The comic ends with The Administrator saying, “Nothing kills a friendship faster than a healthy competition.”
What can we expect? Knowing Valve, there is no way to speculate. It does sound like there may be a means of competition between the Demoman and Soldier once the update hits. Perhaps that means inter-class achievements, or weapon unlocks that only result from one class killing the other. The one thing we do know is that we won’t have to wait long, as the news post on teamfortress.com states ‘Friendship will end in one day’.
