   3 Aug 2009 ~ 2:11am NiGHTS TBH I've never been fond of the comments in the ticker thread. Like Thrax, I think it makes it way too cluttered on the front page. I frequently read the ticker through the forums as well and rarely use the front page (but that's a given since I frequent the site). It would be nice to have either one or the other, though.

   Do you like being able to see the first few comments on the home page?
   Maybe one of the reasons I don't read the ticker on the front page is because there are too many comments and not enough emphasis on what the tick is about. Maybe. :S

   No those are the top stories. The ticker is on the right. They are basically links to other site reviews and interesting news/stores/etc.

   3 Aug 2009 ~ 2:46am GnomeQueen Thanks for the clarification, Dr. Liam. If that's the ticker, then I never, ever look at it. I barely knew it existed. I occasionally glance over and am delighted by an Icrontic Byte.

   You can't see the ticker in the forum, unless you go read the threads the ticker makes.

    I think Thrax thinks that you think that the ticker is on the forums because you mentioned 'Icrontic Byte' which is not on the front page where the ticker is... just a thought though.

    Never read on FP, only read in forums. Not a fan of comments.

    3 Aug 2009 ~ 1:47pm Garg I didn't tune-in in time to see it with comments, but I think I would like it better if it displayed the first 2-3 comments, like the old style. Right now, it's just a wall of text.
    
    I always read the ticker through the front page.
    
    I respectfully disagree with Snark - I like tech reviews, news and silly stuff in the Ticker. I think the Ticker is a good place for linking to interesting product reviews - and far better than the alternative of posting it in the main news flow. Although we could probably post less reviews, only putting the most interesting up.

    3 Aug 2009 ~ 1:53pm Snarkasm Better, fewer reviews is fine. Tickering out to every Madshrimps, Tweaktown, and Hardware Canucks review we saw was annoying, at least to me, and didn't do anybody any justice. It just seemed, at the beginning, that the SNR in what reviews we linked was unbearably low, and it usually turned me off of reading any of them. I enjoyed Matt's tickers a lot more.

    I about concur. I like having it on the front page, but with the comments gone now it looks much nicer and cleaner.
