Tokyo Game Show: Wii price cut and New Super Mario launch date

tokyo-game-show-2009It kinda sucks being twelve hours behind the 2009 TGS (think the “E3 of Japan”), but we’ll try our best.

Today Nintendo not only confirmed the rumor that the price of the Wii has dropped to $199 as of September 27, but they also announced the release date for New Super Mario Brothers: November 15 in North America, and November 17 in Europe.

We got to get a hands-on with New Super Mario Bros at E3 this year, and enjoyed it a great deal. It’s a co-op, multiplayer version of the extremely well-done New Super Mario Bros for the DS. It has the four player, free-for-all, party feel of Super Smash Brothers, but in a side-scrolling “classic” Mario adventure. It’s gonna be a must-have for Wii owners.

chrisWhite I'm stoked for the price cut, I'd love to get my own Wii, I just wish it could do HDMI out to my monitor so I could use it the way I do my Xbox.
