Digital cinema frames are 2048x1080p. They’re pretty swank. They get downsized to 1920x1080p for us wee folk with nary a projector to our name.
The Japanese, bless their wild craziness, are touting 7,680×4,320. It also boasts 22.2 channel sound — a sonosphere? — and requires 24Gbps of bandwidth. Also, some rad free-thinker in the communications ministry in Japan is going to drop $2.7m in cold, hard cash this year alone to make it happen.
