Verizon confirms Pre and Pixi Plus pricing

Verizon Wireless has announced today the official pricing for the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus, as well as the minimum plans customers must agree to in order to take one of the handsets home.

Starting with the Pre Plus, the handset has an official MSRP of $250, but drops to $150 after $100 MIR. Interested parties should also be aware that a voice plan exceeding $40 is mandatory, as is a $30 unlimited data plan. The plan requirements also apply to the Pixi Plus which, after $100 MIR, falls to $100 USD. The Pixi is additionally eligible for Verizon’s buy one/get one program, which offers buyers a second Pixi Plus for free after the purchase of a Pre or Pixi.

Introduced at CES, Palm’s Plus models are slightly modified versions of the Pre and Pixi that have been prepared for release on the Verizon network. Where the Sprint version of the Pixi is without WiFi, the Pixi Plus ships 802.11b/g and, whereas the Palm Pre offers 8GB of storage for Sprint, the Pre Plus offers 16GB for the same price and ditches the button below the screen.

lmorchard Hoping Sprint gets the Pre Plus or a better model in a year or so - I <3 my Pre and webOS.

Really been digging webOS development over Android or iPhone, and it's pretty swank to work with an embedded linux OS that can use most of the same packages as my NSLU2 NAS and my WRT54G wifi router.

Of course, I had an Amiga when everyone else was ranting about Mac vs PC, so I'm usually the weirdo.

Thrax At least Palm is getting its shit together with its SDK. That whole situation was frighteningly bad, and its Ares initiative was like shitting on a shoe that had already stepped in poo.
