The Video Game Voter’s Network today released details about a graphic design contest that awards $750 as a grand prize. They recently held a contest to help them choose a new slogan, and now that the results have been narrowed down to three, they are looking for some badge artwork.
Interested artists should visit their contest page for official rules, but the skinny is this:
Each design should be 200×200 px and should include the VGVN acronym or name, and/or the web address, www.vgvn.org. It may also contain one of the three winning slogans.
- Because the First Amendment is NOT a game.
- Free speech. It’s no game.
- Our games. Our rights.
The badges will be judged on style and creativity, but more important is the adherance to the VGVN message. The best badge design will receive a $750 Best Buy gift Card, and the runner up will get $250. In addition, the winning badge design will be used in an internet-wide campaign to raise awareness of the VGVN organization, which is committed to providing gamers with the information they need to make informed political decisions, mostly relating to First Amendment rights in video games.
