The fledgling Obama administration has taken the wraps off of the official roster for the White House’s new-media team.
Macon Phillips
Director of New Media
Will oversee the development of the White House blog and other new-media initiatives (YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, et. al.). Phillips previously served in this capacity during the election in the oversight of Change.gov.
Cammie Croft
Deputy Director of New Media
Will continue to oversee rapid media response, a position held during the election with sites like FightTheSmears.com. Where Phillips will steer the slow and steady course for the new administration, Croft is responsible for quickly responding to sudden media events.
Katie Stanton
Director of Citizen Participation
Formerly of Google, Stanton oversaw the new business development team which was responsible for initiatives such as OpenSocial and Google Moderator. It is presumed that Stanton will be responsible for the development of programs designed to involve citizens in the executive process.
Jessie Lee
Online Programs Director
Lee previously performed online outreach programs for the Obama campaign during the election period. He was also a senior new media adviser for Senator Nancy Pelosi. It is presumed that Lee will be responsible for the development of programs designed to catch the attention of the general public.
