Windows 7 and Server 2008 SP1 on Feb 22

Microsoft has announced the release to manufacturing for the first Service Pack for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Release notes will not be made available until the service pack is released, so a complete list of patches and features isn’t immediately available.  Windows 7 SP1 contains all of the previously available updates to Windows plus other patches not yet released.  Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 will include these patches as well as two new features: Dynamic Memory (for virtual machines) and RemoteFX (GPU virtualization).

The service pack will be released to MSDN,  TechNet, and Volume License subscribers on February 16.  Everyone else will be able to download the service pack from Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center on February 22.

    QuadWhore SP1? Honestly, I'm excited.

Thrax For anyone excited: It's just a rollup of all the patches released since launch. No new features of merit.
