Windows 7 x86-32 build 7057 appears

These builds just keep the ball rolling, don’t they? This torrent appeared late Tuesday night on through early Wednesday, but we’re just now getting around to sounding the alert that build 7057 is in the wild.

Just sayin'.

Just sayin'.

While we don’t know what changes have snuck into this release, we can only assume that this build contains many of the new features recently outlined for RC1. It is important to note that this is not the RC1 build number, but it is a build that is using code being considered for release candidacy.

Happy hunting.

QCH Anyone able to grab this version? I'd like to but I'm at work and torrents are.... highly frowned upon... I think many of you know why. ;)

Thrax Too right! Ars' article has a great pictorial on what has made the cut for 7057, and indeed most of it is exactly as Microsoft described in their talks about RC features. :D Thanks, Ryan!

As an aside, I am really enjoying 7057. It installed faster than 7000, the new features have improved my workflow, the erratic hard freezes I was experiencing are gone, and general polish just seems much better.

It's hard to believe we're still in beta.

    jared RC1 soon, eh?

Thrax Probably the end of April. Ahead of 7057 there are three new builds at 7061, 7062 and 7063. The most recent one has a March 13 compile date, I believe it is.

I also believe that Windows 7 is moving into code escrow (no new features added) at the end of March, which makes sense if they plan to RTM it in the September - November timeframe.

Howdy, Stranger!
