There’s nothing I love more than seeing two competitors at each other’s necks, bludgeoning each other with bigger and better deals. The console war rages on and its most recent casualty comes in the form of pricing. Starting today, if you purchase an Xbox 360 Elite system, you’ll recieve a $50 rebate on the purchase from Microsoft. Act quickly, however, as the rebate will only be available through October 5th.
The rebate will effectively cut the cost of the Xbox 360 Elite console to $249, nudging it just below the recently released PS3 Slim and its $299 price point. Compared to launch prices, both consoles can now be considered incredible deals for first time buyers. There is no better time to buy a console if you’ve been sitting on the fence for awhile. Microsoft’s deal is a rebate, however, so expect to be waiting for a short lifetime for the rebate to come back to you.
