The reporters of the tech industry are up in arms as rumors of mass layoff at Yahoo were confirmed. Analysts estimate that between 10-20% of the workforce will get the axe in 2008, affecting 1,400-2,800 people.
Although sure to be reported as a bubble-esque indicator of weakness in the tech sector, compnies like Yahoo periodically have to do such purging of redundant personnel, a side effect of mass acquisitions of smaller companies.
