Re: What is Icrontic playing? Spring 2020 edition
Minecraft (PC) - Modded to hell, currently doing MCEternal with Farge and another friend.
World of Warcraft (PC) - Still in Icrontic guild, running keystones with a set group and facetanking heroics for Call-to-Arms as dps is pretty fun still.
Gato Roboto (PC) - Fun little metroidvania, a little short but fair replay potential. I recommend it!
Rune Factory 4 Special (Switch) - Harvest Moon + monsters and crafting also, quite fun. I played the non-special edition on 3DS but Farge wanted his own and it's biiiig on Switch.
Star Ocean First Departure (Switch) - ARPG. I looooooooooooOOOOVE Star Ocean, and playing the remade original was a delight. Need to do another run for the extra routes, I really did not do well the first time. Too much group crime
PubG (PC) - Mostly to do a quest or two (driving on motorcycles aimlessly is kind of zen), buy a few crates to sell, leave.
Slay the Spire (PC) - Keeping on top of the friends leaderboard and enjoying Watcher Ascension runs.
Re: What is Icrontic playing? Spring 2020 edition
Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries - can't decide if this game is good or not, but I like piloting a mech again.
Kingdom Death: Monster - playing this with my brother and nephews on Tabletop Simulator. It's a mix of XCOM, Civ, and survivor rogue-like games. Incredibly brutal and unforgiving game.
My Time at Portia - Basically the same game as Kingdom Death: Monster.

Whew. It's been a year, huh everyone?
I stopped gaming for months after Kyle was killed, and I'm finally starting to get back into the hobby. Working for Unity now, I've started to dust off all the memories of the things I love so much about gaming. I'll be honest, GamerGate kind of ruined gamer culture for me, and I never really felt like identifying as a gamer after that dumpster fire. I was happy to dip out of the gaming industry entirely.
But now I'm back in it. I am working in the industry I used to know and love so well, and it has rekindled a flame I thought had gone out.
My Switch has been a big part of that; the Switch library is massive, and with engines like Unity (ahem) making it really easy for devs to write a game and deploy it on multiple platforms, the Switch has become my preferred platform for new game purchases. When a new interesting game under $20 comes out, and it exists on both platforms, I will always go for the Switch version instead.
That said, I'm currently playing:
- My Time at Portia (Switch) - a bit buggy, but really really charming and I can't stop playing it. Crafting, relationship building, exploring, fighting, upgrading... it's a bit of RPG, a bit of Minecraft, a bit of Stardew Valley, all cute, all fun.
- Stardew Valley (PC) - I finally started playing it after having it sit in my library for years. I'm not far yet, but it's fun. Maybe playing it after Portia was a bad idea, cause I find myself just wishing it was Portia, but it definitely has its moments
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch) - Duh.
- Township (Mobile) - running a little town, farming, crafting, and transit stuff. Mini-games. Great time waster. There's an Icrontic guild of sorts that's pretty active, so that's fun
- Adventure Communist (Mobile) - idle game set in a Soviet paradise
- Zen Idle (Mobile) - ultra minimalist gravity-based ball-drop idle game
- Empires & Puzzles (Mobile) - I don't know why I play it except that I'm invested in helping my guild kill monsters, and I don't want to let them down since I'm one of the top members. It's a match-3 game.
- Journey (PS4) - incredibly beautiful, short, poignant, emotive. Just a wonderful experience
- ICRONTIC TF2. It's still so goddamn fun. 12.5 years of this shit. Jesus.
I recently bought a PS4 and I'm excited to get into The Last of Us, Spiderman, FF7 Remake, and God of War.
Whatchu got? Whatchu playn?
Re: What is Icrontic playing? Spring 2020 edition
Minecraft - Just love this game. It's got something for everyone.
Project Cars 2 - I just recently replaced my racing wheel with a new Thrustmaster T300RS, got a wheel stand and I'm loving the sim racing stuff. It's such a great change of pace from shooting things in video games and I'm finding learning how to race all these cars very rewarding.
Squad - though I haven't played in a few weeks, Squad is such an interesting FPS. It's so dependent on teamwork. You can't just lonewolf around the massive maps and try to get a high k/d. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a somewhat MilSim shooter.

The Great Icrontic Bake-off!
Hey y'all,
We're all baking anyways, I think it's time we have an official bake-off!
How you qualify--
Next weekend, May 30th and 31st, you will bake a thing! (or any time this week! I don't really care!)
Anything! Literally anything! Savory, sweet, I don't care, I'm not eating it! (Unless your name rhymes with Mosh and you live close enough that you could leave some at my house...just saying**).
Post photos here of what you baked and the recipe (as long as it's not a family secret) and you will be entered into a raffle to win a $10 Amazon gift-card.
- Bonus internet points for baking a new recipe, for telling us what you learned/what you'd do differently, for getting someone to judge your food or judging it yourself and for sharing here or in Discord progress photos of how your baking is going! __Note: bonus points have no impact on winning but will be noted in the official register.
- Sidenote: I am definitely not stalking any of you nope no sirree so I definitely have no idea when you actually bake things. Cough. (Honestly...I don't actually care when you bake the thing! Just bake it!)

Re: [Resolved] Looking for assistance with crashes, faults, bluescreens on a new build
Does your BIOS have an option where it can dump all of its current settings to text file on a flash drive? My Asus does.
You should also consider analyzing a crashdump with the WinDBG tool. It may reveal a specific driver responsible for your BSODs. I've seen network drivers, capture cards and webcam drivers wreak havoc with a system.

Re: [Resolved] Looking for assistance with crashes, faults, bluescreens on a new build
I second what Cliff is saying, there is a lot of stuff that could be wrong with it right now but not enough info to make a solid decision.
Right now I would see if you can get "Heaven" benchmark to run at max settings for at least an hour without issues. If that passes fine I would move on to "Superposition" and run that for at least an hour as well. You can find both at https://benchmark.unigine.com/
If you're unable to get them solid for an hour each switch over to "benchmarking" mode and post the results.

Re: [Resolved] Looking for assistance with crashes, faults, bluescreens on a new build
Could be so many things, but to check something simple first. Do you have any background apps running while gaming? All your crashes do seem gaming related? Recently I had a different issue, it was a strange network lag thing where occasionaly I'd lag out of games but I'd look and everything on the hardware and network end seemed fine, not like my network card crashed or anything. After troubleshooting it turned out to be a Citrix client software that was running on the front end, I had installed it for some work functions. I disabled that on start up and all my problems disapeared. Perhaps there are some background apps that you can disable and try gaming with them off to see if any of those may be causing a conflict?
Re: Let's get it done
I should start showing up on the stats, folding overnight on the GPU and two cores of the CPU, first activity in 2+ years
