Actually, look at our production today versus the team in 7th place.... Not only are we pulling ahead of the folding frogs, we are outproducing, on a weekly basis, the 7th place team. Team Egg Roll is likely to change places with them in a month or two (somewhere in there), but we can be close to them then also if we keep the blitz on.

For my little part, the P4 is at full steam now, Pre-OC. It is outproducing the Barton, which is minorly OC'd. Same RAM (Corsair CMX DDR333, which it would appear from doing it and having it purr like a kitten that you can use in both dual channel banks of the IC7-Max3 with a 533 MHz CPU-- I have half a gig in each "channel" and BIOS set it up at 2.5-3-3-7), slower video card, more output even with same WU projects on both boxes part of the time, and more points per hour than the Barton.

Took me a few days to get a few kinks ironed out (like for some reason the BIOS decided it wanted to boot Channel 1 (primary in this motherboard's BIOS-speak)slave first when I installed XP, had to play with recovery console and bootfix and fixmbr because the slave drive is an archive and I wanted a copy, and PM 8.0 happily stuck a BOOT MAGIC boot sector on it when I duped the archive to another HD since the slave HAD an XP boot sector on it already which left me with the box booting to a message to please stick the bootmgc.img floppy in instead of XP unless I booted from the install CD whence it merrily loaded XP from HD off of an install CD boot). P4 was up and down, rebooting as I loaded software from archivals, etc. NOW DAT BOX rocks!!! I might have a 200+ point day, or close, today. It also had an issue with ABITEQ shutting down the OTES fan and alarming, that ended up being a software incompatibility with something which I WILL stick in another htread.

Now that my kids' computer is over that gigundus 6000+ molecule protein that took like 4 days for it to finish, we're back in the groove with a tinker @ 8:00 per frame.

    **sounding like homer simpson** :D

Well my slow rig seems to be doing just fine. Who knows, maybe my points will be the ones that gets us past them. :) Consideering how little impact fah actually has on my computer (not something i notice) i regret not starting sooner. If i just had folded with this rig instead of wasting my time getting that crappy p1 going i would prolly have finished several wu:s by now. It's easy to be smart afterwords. Oh well.

I just upgraded a friend's computer from a pally 2000 I had loaned him to a 2500 he bought from newegg. I got it stable at just under 2100 MHz, which is a really crappy overclock for a barton. I don't know if it's the proc or that geil junk he's got for ram or that cheap mobo(biostar, yuk!).

I plan to unlock the pally 2000 and do some testing to see how it will overclock, then ship it out to Mr K as a proc for the SMx project

Man, if Gnomey got every one of his g/fs to fold, we'd have the number one team in the whole project. ;D

Hell, I got an old Creative pci sound card that handles high pci bus speeds well and it even makes sounds too. You have 1 of those fancy sound cards that doesn't like high pci bus speeds or something?

Yeah, Sound Blaster Audigy. I've been told I'd probably nuke it in the process. A "better" one is next on my to-buy list.

I also realized I wasn't using the 4.0 client yet so I upgraded on a couple systems... oops. *cough*

The folding farm has officially begun. Node one is officially up and running although I'm not too pleased with the performance. It seems that the duron proc really doesn't like sse extensions too much. I kept getting WU early term errors all night. I may have to go with a 2100+ or 2200+ for about ten dollars more. Everything else is rocking and rolling. Time to order the next two nodes now. Our production as a team has really been picking up good lately. We've been neck and neck with ars tech this past week with production and solidly ahead of max pc.
