Need FahCore_78.exe ***Now need Core_79.exe***

As some of you may know, the network at my work prevents the auto-downloading of new cores from Stanford as they release them.

What I need is someone to please upload the core so I can get these P4's working again.

Puleeeeeeeezzz. :)

BTW - I think the latest version is 1.56.

1.59? Well, I guess I had better keep a close eye on these machines in that case.

Another thing, I went to the Stanford cores page before asking here and I didn't know what to do with the files they had listed such as core_78.fah and so on. Anyone know what's up with that?

you may also need the tinker core as well as the fahcore_79 ...just in case you get some of those projects.

I think I have vers 1.56 on the machines under my control. What are the advantages of 1.59 versus 1.56? Is that to correct the stability issues under amd procs?

I'm looking into it. I assumed that v1.59 was an older core_79 that had since been updated to v1.61 ...

Marc is v1.59 definitely from core_78?

at any rate ...when the newer cores are needed they are automatically downloaded ...however in tbonz case that can't happen.

1.61 is the double gromacs core.

Please do, Mark.... MIGHT be a beta Core, as my p212s are using Core_78 version 1.56 and are slower than the dickens.... 15:50 min:sec per frame on the P4, 17:59 per frame on the Barton (EMIII is gussing total run time for that one at 29 hours, 50+ minutes, about what reality is saying for the Barton). I am running a 44/44/0 on both boxes. Maybe I will kill the job, try for a new Core_78 by wiping the core, see if I get same (only the core, not the pended WU)-- in fact, DID, got another Core_78, version 1.56. Probably a beta core, or not all servers have it yet to give out.

The GOOD news is at least they are 160 (?) point WUs. So, the good part of a long haul calc WU pair is that by 7:00 Central time tomorrow I will be at least 160 points ahead of where I am now....(well I lost one of them that was not turned in when a server at stanford decided to check its file system and take through rebuild day, so will make up that pointage in next few days) :D (Which is 25606.3 points).

BUT, if you find out, please let us have one of those cores as an attachment or download, pretty please... :D :hoping: , and with :respect:

    Good, about the point thing.

I know I did run a few WUs under the beta team but I dont know if that was a cause of that. Not going to attach it until I find out for sure. 7AM class tomorrow so I dont have a chance to look at the community tonight.

Oh yeah the WU I mentioned above was with a beta WU.

That WU must be for a certain WU like mine was.

    Can anyone help?

I tell you it burns me that I can't automatically get these cores. :rarr:

Terry would you be able to download it from SM if it was in a download section or something?

What am I missing? If the core is bad, just stop Folding, delete the core from the client folder, restart, and a new core is automatically downloaded and employed.
  • mmonninmmonnin Centreville, VA

His work network doesnt allow for it to be downloaded. WUs but not cores.

Thinking it over, its prolly better to have someone email/upload it somewhere so we dont get in trouble with Stanford. Someone is around about all the time to give you a core.
