    I've seeen sapphire's radeon x800 pro in komplett.se. Costs about 4200 SEK which is about the same as a 9800pro 256mb so it's a nice price. :)

I ordered a 9800xt on 16 April from them and have never received it! A search of companies house reveals they do not exist! I have lost £245 and have reported it to the police. If you have ordered from them and not recieved please email me @ edmondskje"@aol.com remove the quote marks have done it this way to avoid spam. Did you come across the website via ebay?

Just to clarify the above post refers to Avnet Micro Ltd and no other company! I have also emailed asus the manufacturer and claimed supplier about Avnet Micro Ltd. Asus said that they have received complaints before about people paying for their goods and not receiving them. Once again if you have ordered or encountered Avnet Micro Ltd please email me edmondskje"@aol.com

    Guys *for the uk people*

Whats the deal with UK Banks. I transfered the money to a account with they gave me. Is it possible for someone to investigate it or the bank to refund me?

    Thanks

You should always use credit cards when paying for stuff like this if you can. That way you can get your money back and let the credit card company go after the company/person for the cash. If you transfered it straight into their account (which I would never recommend) go to your local bank and speak to one of their customer service people. They will be able to advise you on your best course of action.

Sign up http://www.short-media.com/forum/register.php we can go into more detail then. We have alot of helpful people here :D

Looks like I was also duped by this AVnet Micro company.

I also found them from their auction listings on eBay and ordered direct from the website. I transferred money to their account on the 13th May and despite their Kathleen Decorte having advised that the goods were shipped I have not received anything and had no reply to me last 2 emails sent yesterday and today.

I was considering my next moves - contacting eBay, contacting Asus, contacting the police etc. Any ideas?

I am really annoyed with myself for having let these people take my money as I am usually very careful with regards to buying things on the internet and this is the first time I have been caught out. I could really do without losing this amount of money right now (I paid £244 for an Asus Radeon 9800XT).

Normally I always pay by credit card or PayPal in order to have some degree of insurance. I think their scam on eBay is what makes them credible as they have apparently got lots of positive feedback.

Ive already had a few emails back and forth with someone else who has been ripped by Avnet :(

It's extremely worrying to think of just how many people must have placed orders on their website. Really worrying.

Buyer definitely beware. What's amazing is their website is still online :wtf:

So wrong. Id suggest reporting to the police as a minimum.

If there are a few people on here who are in the same position perhaps it's worth getting together in order to try and pursue some course of combined action. Has anyone started any form of action yet?

Always be aware of any site that murders the English language as much as that site does!

In my experience that's always a good fraud indicatator. Also make sure the police have been given those bank details so that they can put a trace on the accounts; although i'd expect that they have been set up using stolen/fraudulent id's.

I have reported mine with Surry Police Crime Reporting Bureau, the Crime Reporting No. is C/04/10238.

The Police asked me to get as much additional information relating to other peoples experience as possible. Seeing as the account details that you other guys have paid into have been removed by the admins please could you email me (via my profile above) these details together with crime reporting numbers and which police station they were reported at. Thanks.

I would suggest that anyone reading this forum thread that has been a victim of this scam registers themselves here so that we can easily be in contact with each other.
