I don't even know what it is, so it can't be <i>that</i> dreaded. Heh.

Maybe it's that dreaded they haven't let the public know about it yet.

Hmm, do you mean drivers are not installing (like a device error) or have missing parts, or a screen that is blue background with white letters showing something like OE or OD or Stop???

We need to know some of what else is happening, please, also. From what you can see on computer screen and if you know, what application this happens with if it is not one of the above (maybe even if it IS one of the above).

A box pops up on the desktop when you double click a program and the box says "Error 02. This program is already running." :banghead:

    It was a joke :)

Have you got the exact wording of the error? It could help us narrow it down.

" Error 02. This program is already running." Does that help? :banghead:

If I'm piecing the bits of info together correctly it sounds like you are getting this error when you (your friend) try to dial your Internet connection.

Have you run a spyware check? You might have a porno dialer loaded which then tries to reload itself when you go to connect.

Give us a blow-by-blow detailed list of everything you do leading up to this problem. :)

post a hijackthis log here. Go to www.short-media.com/download.php and then go into the security section. Then download HijackThis.... Run it, copy and paste the log into a new thread in the Spyware/Virus/Trojan forum, and we will start with that.

hehehe... I was waiting for Jengo to find Jingo... ;D

Jingo... dude, we have no idea wtf you are talking about with this error 02 business. honestly... when you post a tech problem here so that we can help you, you need to give us info. Start with the specs, like what version of windows, what exactly happens when you get an error, what the error says, maybe a screenshot would help, etc.

    Jingo,

First you'll have to excuse the clowns for making fun of you however you have to admit the info you gave us is a little thin. We obviously aren't too familiar with a "dreaded 02 error".

Now the only thing I'm familiar with is. "02 - This error code occurs during the installation of the Windows version when trying to "Activate". The program is already activated. Install the program files without "Activating", then run the program. There could be an older version already on the hard drive. Just run the program, do not "Activate" again."

Try to post as much info from your friend as possible..start with a simple question to that friend..."Is it a hacked copy of Windows or legit". Try to tell us as much info as you can about when the error pops up and what he/she was doing on the computer when it did.

Meanwhile I'll send the peanut gallery out back to continue shelling peanuts.

You may be better off getting getting your friend to post here himself because I doubt anything is going to get solved soon by the fragments of information you are passing along.

If that's the only error message he's getting, the best solution may very well be just to reinstall windows.

I have no idea what the error is, what could cause it, or anything else. I've never even heard of it before. Soooo, like I said, reinstalling windows might be the easiest (from a debugging standpoint) thing to do.

Is there any chance that this is a form of id10t or pebkac error? :D;D

You click on the net zero icon, and it will bring up the connect window. He hits connect and that window will disappear. The sand timer does not show up after that. Then he clicks it again and the error pops up. It says "Error 02 this program is already running." :banghead:
Bugsmasher is being an idiot right now and won't finish registering. This is the person who is having the problem. He's not very pacient.

looks like a simple problem, he started netzero, and it quiet possibly wasn't responding, and then he tries to start that program again, so windows gives you an error saying the program is already running.

when u try to run the program again, do ctrl=alt=del, and then end task netzero that is already running but not respodning, and then try to run netzero again.

if the sand timer still doesn't show up, then it's something wrong with that piece of software, try download a newer version or something.
