How many units?

Hello all!

How many units do I need to process before I show up as team member on the tracking sites? I visited a few of them but couldnt find my name associated with team 93. According to the FAHlog.txt file, I've completed four units. Just a curious question from a newbie :-)

    Chip, you should be showing up if you've finished 4 wu's now. What username did you choose to use and which client are you using, the graphical or the console version?

    I just looked for usernames starting with chip but don't see your forum name listed anywhere's at Stanford. :confused:

    You have to complete a work unit and send it back to Stanford. About 3 hours after that your name should show up in the stats. Give it a day just to be sure.

    Did you complete 4 units or 4% of the full WU?

    I am guessing for forum name is your FAH username since thats whats what you put in your profile for the pic under your forum name.

    As kwitko said you might have done 4% of the WU.

    Edit: But the log says you have completed 3 WUs.

    That appears to be the problem....here is the MyFolding.html How do I change it from anonymous? I guess when I set up the service, I didn't do it correctly.

    Ok chip ...assuming you've successfully terminated the client I'll show you what to do.

    First of all ...post the contents of your client.cfg file ...should look something like this:

    [settings]
    username=csimon
    team=93
    asknet=no
    machineid=1
    local=397

    [http]
    active=no
    host=localhost
    port=8080
    usereg=no

    [clienttype]
    type=1

    [core]
    checkpoint=30

    I dont think it stopped....when I click end process in task manager...it ends...but then automatically starts again?

    Suggestions?

    it takes a little while to actually stop ...did you use my method to install or did you use some other method?

    try start>run...>services.msc

    find the folding client there and highlight it and pick stop to the left.

    ok here goes ...we'll just reconfigure it.

    open the command prompt and maneuver your way into the Folding folder. I'm not sure where you finally put it so I can't be much help unless you tell me where it is.

    Anyway once you get there (lets use c:\f@h for example) just type fah4console -configonly ...that will bring up the client in configure mode only but won't restart the client when finished.
    Then just go through each prompt and you should be able to configure just like I have mine in my pic.

    Got any questions before you get started?

    No questions...it is in c:\program files\f@h
  • csimoncsimon Acadiana Icrontian

    cool ...well you should be able to open the command prompt while my configuration is in the background to make it easy to follow ...if your resolution is set high enough.

    It might look like this:

    Ok...typed in and followed prompts to mirror yours....what now?

    Working now....thanks for your help! Ok...as for the previous work done, is that transfered to my name or chalk it up to experience gathering..lol

    Main thing, is the work was still done, but doesn't look like the team gets credit for the previous work done.

    Thanks for your help!!!!!

    Chip

    You don't get those WUs in your name, but at least you turned in some WUs for the cause in general. When you get your first WU for us, you're gonna be hooked. :)
