Multi-socket boards make a comeback
It would appear that AMD's use of 3 sockets for their A64/FX/Opteron has caused motherboard manufacturers to start doing something last seen in the P2/P3 days.
Check out this A64 board:

now check out this Tyan P2/3 board:

So yeah. It would appear that the concept of multi-socket boards has made a return. Now if only someone would do it with a nf3 board.

Either way it's cool. It lets one ease their way into the 64 Bit stuff, rather than going balls/wallet-to-the-wall all at once.
The latter. It's just so you can buy a $100 sempron now, or use your existing S754 CPU, until you get around to buying a S939 CPU without having to buy a new board.
