The next cheapest price I could find from a reputable outfit was Amazon at $199. The very cheapest I saw in a quick google was $145.

Just letting you folks know. We are aware of the two dealers selling for $145. They are unauthorized dealers. Some of these dealers take off the serial number, change things, refurbish etc. If you want to take a gamble, buy them for $5 less, if not, buy ours brand new! :-) Click here to read our unauthorized dealer warning. We have had MANY problems with people calling us for support on broken or DOA product from unauthorized dealers and have knocked out as many as possible, but some still exist.

Except you charge $28 for shipping and the way you have your Billing/Shipping Info setup is horrible. I have a different shipping adsress than billing since I am in college. It got the addresses switch and I tried to get it one but it stayed the same. Its also bad I had to go that far for a damn shipping price.

    klipschaudio,

I'm sure mmonnin didn't mean to sound hostile in his post. It's not like him to come out of the gate like that with guns blazing.

On the issue of shipping. I think the box is slightly bigger than a breadbox and a bit heavier. Shipping from Amazon is indeed free but the $199 purchase price is still more expensive than paying the $149 + $28 shipping charge from Klipsch.

I'm sure another retailer will also charge shipping and have a more expensive purchase price but I cannot verify that at the moment.

Thanks for monitoring our forums. Glad to have Klipsch in da house! :)

It's definately a good deal... I'm going to have to seriously think about getting a set... I took my Z-680s with me to college, but I need another set of speakers at home, and I don't really want to pay $250 for another set of Z-680s...

Everyone, I was just told something. We looked and found out those websites telling for $5 less are B-stock. This means they have been refurbished for sure. Thanks! -Klipsch Guy

I'm hoping you have a coupon code for us here at short-media.
  • edited October 2004
I'm sorry, but I have no coupon code. We could have done a coupon code for $20 or so, and priced the product at $170 or something. haha But we are honestly giving you our best deal. This is literally what the employees pay for the product, I know, I bought one! :-) The $150 is barely at cost and we are blowing it out this cheap soley because we have a warehouse full of them, and we need space for new product. I'm sorry again there is no code, but any cheaper, and we'd be losing more money than we started with.

No, we don't ship to Canada either. We do have a distributor in Cananda, but they are not offering the price. This price is here until we sell out of the GMX D 5.1's. For anyone in Canada, I would recommend having a friend purchase and ship there as stated.

I have a 4.1 Klipsch setup and a older HUGE pair of Klipsch Cornwalls that are just awesome. They are like four foot tall. I run my computers sound out to a carver amp/preamp and into the Cornwalls for the most awesome computer sound system I have ever heard anyway. Smaller then the ungodly Klipsh corner horns but probably suitable for everything from small theaters downward.

I have heard they have upgraded woofers now for the Cornwalls (k-33's I think?) and I wish you had a source for a good price on those. I keep watching ebay.

I love Klipsch and would recomend them again

    Tex

Very nice set up. The cornwalls are amazing speakers, glad to hear you like them! Ya, the Klipschorns are MASSIVE, but if you heard a pair well set up, you would wet yourself. :-) Sorry about the upgraded woofers, I can't offer a pair of those. If you want to try calling customer service and talk to someone in "parts", perhaps they could help you out and you can see what kind of prices they have on them. Personally, I did not know that an "upgraded" driver existed for them, but I'm sure customer service will be glad to help you out.

Oh yes I have heard the horns. They are breath taking but take a room with a proper setup to really get full benefit due to their design obviously. I am lucky my wife lets me keep dragging these around. I use an older pair of Bose 901's as the back surround sound speakers and its realy a sweet setup.

    Appreciated a lot!

However, i looked on the specs and it's close to 40 lbs. Wonder what it would cost shipping it to faroffistan?

Edit: I looked at usps and the lowest is $50 for 4-6 weeks.

    Thanks anyway, good man :)
  • edited October 2004
Awesome. It sound like a nice set up you got going there tex. Ya, the whole wife factor is allways tuff in having good sound reproduction. Being a Klipsch Employee I probablly shouldn't comment on those bose, so I'll just say, I bet the front half of your system sound great! haha. Good luck with finding those upgraded drivers man.
