FS: Brand New, NEVER OPENED, Dell 2001FP LCD. $640

///Main Tower Sold///
///Monitor Sold///

It's time to move on from the Dakillac. It's served me incredibly well and I'm sorry to see it go. I would LOVE to sell this beast as a whole but realize that's probably not going to happen. But, as mentioned, I'm going to start it out that way. If there's enough interest in the parts then I'll part her out.

1) P4 2.4C. I've had it running at 3.0 since I've had it with the stock heatsink without a problem. I have had it up to 3.3 at stock volts but it wasn't stable. Costa chip, ont sure of the steppings as of now.
2) 2x256 MB Kingston Hyper-X PC3500. The timings are set at 2-2-2-5.
3) Abit IC7
4) 2x120 GB Western Digital Special Editions. I've had them running in a RAID-0 array for 7 months without a problem.
5) MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128 mb. I think I'm the most sad about seeing this bad boy go. It's served me well for over 2 years. :(
6) Liteon 52x32x52 Black CD-RW.
7) Liteon 16x DVD ROM Black.
8) NEC-ND2500A Flashed with Hernie 1.07 firmware. It's now dual layer capable, I have yet to burn at less than 6x.
10) Antec 1080 AMG with 430 watt True power. It has 2 complete front panels.
11) SB Live 5.1.
12) MX Duo
13) Viewsonic E771. I've had this beast for 5 years now. Great, clear picture. It weighs a ton though.

Main tower ///SOLD///

I'm setting the starting price at $700 for local pickup (which is preferred). This is an OBO sale, PM or email me with offers, dak[at]digitaluprising.org Motivated seller!. I'm located in the Northern suburbs of Chicago, near Gurnee. I do go to school near the city though, so if you're interested we can probably work something out. I'll be home tonight to get all sorts of good pictures. If you are interested in the parts please post here and I'll consider you the first on the list if I do decide to part out. Preferred payment is non-cc Paypal. If you want to do the transaction in person cash or money order is what I'd like.

My Modest Heat
Ebay Feedback
I'm also Paypal verified with 7 transactions I believe.

**BONUSES**
If you buy the PC as a whole I'll throw in 50 blank DVD-R's.
I am willing to sign the side of the case as well if you buy the whole PC, trust me, it'll be worth tons in a few years :D.

Bumps are appreciated, any questions post them here or PM/Email.

Thanks for looking,
DaK

    1) General question: How good of an idea is it to run two different brands of memory together?

    2) How high's that PC3500 go? I've got my cpu at 239 FSB right now, prolly can't go a ton higher. So if it could stretch to 240, 245 or maybe 250, will that ram handle it?

    3) How much for those sticks? :D

Also, how much for the monitor?

(Local pickup may be an option, I'm about 3 or 4 hours north of you...)
  • edited October 2004
I'm not a ram expert, others here will help you I'm sure, but mixing RAM brands shouldn't be a problem. If you have PC3200 now for instance, this ram will run at PC3200 as well.

As far as the speed goes. Once again I suck at RAM know how BUT I'm guessing it can go to 250. I had my CPU at 3.3 for about an hour then it crashed. That had to do with cooling.

I was looking for around $130 for the ram. I have someone interested in the CPU/RAM/Mobo/HD's right now from a different board (he responded before you) but if I part her out you got first dibs on just the ram.

    Cool, thanks. :)

What about the monitor (seeing as how the other person doesn't seem overly interested in it, from what I gathered)?

Woops sorry. The monitor I would sell for probably $45 if you picked it up. I still have the original box for it :). The original boxes for everyhting else I might add.

I'd be more than willing to work on pricing with you if you wanted more stuff. I'm highly motivated!

EDIT: How far north are you? My sister works at St. Norberts, right next to Green Bay.

I'm about 20 miles west of Sheboygan. Ring a bell (Waldo is the actual town...or...collection of houses is more what it is ;D)? About an hour south of GB, hour north of Milwaukee. I have relatives in Milwaukee, if ya got anyone down there, to :p. Also ... that sound card ... I *might, might, might* be interested in ... I don't need one necessarily, but it depends how much you're selling it for...

I'm just tossing prices out there :). I'm thinking maybe $20.

It takes 2.5 hours to get to Green Bay. So, you're only about 1.5 away from me. That's not a bad drive . Let me know what you'd like and we can go from there.

I just ordered my new stuff so everything got to go!

EDIT: Here are some pictures and some benchmarks. Note, this was before the raid was setup and the DVD burner.

I have someone interested in the whole PC (Just the tower I should say). First come first serve though.

Thanks to all those that were interested, the tower is sold. Sorry entropy, this guy bought it as a whole. The Viewsonic is still available though. My apologies.

I'll be adding a brand new NEVER OPENED Dell 2001FP 20.1 inch LCD monitor next week. Any reasonable offers will be entertained!

That's alright, glad you sold it :).

I've been thinking about this all night, and that really is a great deal. But, the craptastic monitor I have (this thing is from like, '95) will hold out for awhile yet. And that LCD? Lol, no chance in hell for me ;D. I need a car, first! :p
  • edited October 2004
Understandable. Sorry again about the ram. If you change your mind on the monitor I'm sure we can work something out. If I still have it and I ever head up to visit my sis I'll drop you a line. I've never been to Waldo :thumbsup:

I live in Dundee, Gurnee isn't a problem and I've got cash in hand (albeit less than your initial price but damned close and it would be quick and easy) should your other deal fall through.

IM me if you're interested because I sure am.

    Fold on.
  • edited October 2004
    I'll deffinetly let you know.

Any interest in a 20 inch LCD? Doing it locally will save us both time and money, I'll deffinetly give you a good price on it :).

Define 'good price'... PM me if'n you want.
  • edited October 2004
Do you mean PM? Because I don't see any IM info in your profile.

MSN is my preferred method of discussion, dak11125[at]hotmail.com if you want to chat it up. And by good price I mean significantly less than what you can buy it from Dell for :).

EDIT: DAK11125 is AIM btw if you'd prefer.

Just wanted to mention that the pic of the inside of my pc was with my old CPU/Mobo, that's why the color of the mobo isn't black :p even though it is sold.

Also, I'm getting quite a bit of interest in the 2001FP that should be here late next week/early the week after. So, anyone interested please get in contact with me. Thanks!

I got my shipping confirmation today. I should have the monitor the 20th-22nd according to Dell...so take that for what you will. First one with the cash takes it. Chicago pickup is welcome and preferred.

Also, what's the best way to pack a full PC? I sold my computer complete and wanted to ship it in it's original box. I'm not sure if everything will get rattled around too much or not. I was planning on wrapping the HD's in bubble wrap or something. Any suggestions?

I'd take the heatsink off if I were you. A friend of mine shipped a tower without doing that, and the heatsink (not all that big of one, btw) snapped off the socket and bounced around inside during shipping. If you secured the heatsink in a small box taped inside your 5.25 drive bay area, it should be safe.

That would be the only thing I'd be concerned about changing inside the case. Outside, if you have the original packaging for the case, go with that. If not, bring it to a place that can pack it for you.

I'm not sure. I have the whole inside bubble wrapped. I mean nothing can move in there. I took the video card out, put it in an anti static bag and then in in bubble wrap. I think it should be ok. I would take the HS off but I don't like leaving the CPU bare like that. I'll give the buyer that offer and see what he says. Thanks for the suggestion.

Understand if you get tired of waiting. If you think the buyer's just stringing you along, don't hesitate to start a new for sale thread. We can ditch this one and open a fresh one. Let me know.

I appreciate the offer. The person that was going to buy it was from another forum and I had dealt with im in the past. A courtesty call was all I wanted. Instead I told another person that was offering cash that I had sold it :shakehead . Needless to say I'm not happy with the situation. Now I just got some dude offering $350 cash :banghead:

    The story of my life.

One is paid for and shipped and the other is awaiting payment. Thanks to those interested.
