to quote Mackanz, "Christ on a raft!" For some reason the K7S5A Pro doesn't like the DLT3C JIUHB 1800 it came with, so I have to figure that out... in the meantime, I threw the CPU in my partially functional A7N8X (still works fine, sound + lan defective)... 2.35ghz with a slk-800, 39cfm sunon, white generic thermal compound, and stock voltage. :eek2: I may have to buy 2 or 3 more of these things just to have around for the next time newegg has a good deal on a 760mpx refurb board...

Blackhawk; the CPU did 205x12.5 in my A7N8X... not the K7... it wouldn't even boot in the K7...

I'm trying to debug it now...

Leo; thanks... I'm impressed. In fact I may have to buy a NF7-S to complement it... who knows, maybe 2.5-2.6GHz on air is possible...

Oh and BTW... your IC7 thread is KILLING me. You're making me want a P4. A P4 I have no room for, not to mention the fact that I've got 3 extra Athlon CPUs and boards as it is... but I don't care... I want one! :bawling: :D

If you want to play with Canterwood chipsets and P4 HT 800FSB CPUs, why not sell the parts you've sitting around, pool the money and set up an IC7 or IS7 (Springdale) rig?

I'm telling you, the IC7/G/ board is remarkable. IC7 runs about $140, and PIVC CPUs at or below 2800 aren't all that expensive. Additionally, there are many high-end users who are selling there 2400 and 2600s as they upgrade to the 3000 and 3200 CPUs - that's how I found my 2800.

With that said, I can't yet directly compare my IC7 setup with my NF7-S system. I've been tweaking, overclocking, and becoming comfortable with the IC7, and haven't yet had time to do much with the AMD system.

I dont think my PC2100 can get to 190. The possibility of getting to 205 and higher really makes me want to get a NF7 and PC3200.

Cant wait til Christmas now. I know what I want.

    I knew it!

I said that these babies were probably fabricated with purer silicon closer to the center of the wafer. I was right.
