Very nice work, Shwaip, although I would change the colors. The orange looks yellow and the red looks orange. And it's tough to read against the gray background.

Easily fixed...just make all the rigs produce more :D

(I'll actually change it tho ;))

Great idea and great work :D Just a couple little things could you possibly do something to the colours to get a little better contrast? Yellow on grey background is near impossible to read for me :/. SM 4, 7, 11 and 18 are currently a light yellow on my comp.

I think the best way to do it is just have the backgrounds change color and keep the text black or white, whatever contrasts best.

    Excellent work, shwaip!

I just changed it a little, got rid of the grey background, changed some colors, should be easier to read.

Great idea, shwaip, for making a production page for the SMx project. It will make keeping track of the rigs so much easier.:D

not to thread crap too much, but where is our list of what equipment is in each box? Other htan the three that aren't running to looks like we have 4 or 5 underachivers. Maybe we should look at boosting these boys before we build 22. Or, maybe it is easier to just keep building new boxes. Just a thought.

16's waiting for a replacement m/board and PSU at the moment. I hope to have it up and running again soon.

Thanks for the link, nice work.

Is it just my imagination or are the XP1600s (SM 15, 17 and 19) having trouble keeping up?

Mr. Kwitko, if you send an ATX mobo for 16, you could send the Codegen ATX 2.03 350 W PSU I sent you with it. Let's (suggestion) send the parts we need to get the existing ones folding stably first, then work on 22.

Prime, if we had a non-profit foundation set up I would get or build and send a barebones for 22.

    John.

Getting a non-profit going is a big ordeal. We're still trying to figure out the best way to organize a company alone, much less a 501(c)3.

SM16 is in the UK, so shipping a PSU is a bit of a mess. I believe shorty is coming through with the replacement parts that SM16 needs.

Yep, He's just waiting to get his grubby little hands on them (someone put them on the top shelf and hid his box ;D;D:crazy: )

updated, it seems that SM3 hasn't turned in a WU since the last update (3 days)

(i'm gonna have to track down what the weird results are coming from tho)

SM17 has a palamino (No-sse AFAIK) so there's no performance boost on gromacs, this cuts production out by 20-30% easy (clock for clock). I imagine the other 1600+'s are in the same boat. SM17 is currently @ 10.5x148 would should get up to about 280 / week (a major ISP outage has slowed this weeks stats).

    Palominos have sse and 3dnow.

you sure? SSE isn't working on any of my palaminos afaik. hmm they all happen to be running on linux. Hmm i just checked and you're definitely right. A bug perhaps or something in my kernel, for some reason I thought sse came in with the t-bred. If that's the case I'll definitely switch to win2k on SM17 ... I'll do it this weekend at the latest. Midterm in 6 hours must not sleep :D.

after you get 2k installed, check with wcpuid. If it says it's not there, you can enable it using wcpuid.

Some of you may remember I had a SMx stats page a while back, but lost the ability to update it when the network admins changed some settings...or something. A very old, outdated version is here:
    http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~hanusaem/SMx/Stats.html

Now, I've got a break coming up soon, and I now have a way to get the stats back online again. I want to know if:
    a) Anyone would look at them.
    b) Anyone has any suggestions.
    c) Other.
    d) all of the above
    e) none of the above
    f) wtf?

If people want them back up, I'll gladly do it. As for suggestions, the page will pretty much have to be static HTML, as I'm not familiar enough with PHP/whatever to do what would need to be done...and I won't quite have enough time to learn how to do what I need to do. I'll gladly entertain any/all suggestions.

One thing I could do, fairly easily, is create a history for each SMx machine, if desired.

    a) Yes, daily.
    b) A new colour scheme.
    c) Did I mention a colour scheme?
    d) Yes
    e) No sir.
    f) That's what I say!

Your last thing about the history, yes please.

Thanks for the effort Shwaip.

i agree with TB, although daily isnt as important as maybe every 3 days or something. the categories you have now are fine, especially the SMx rank part :D um new colors, and a whole lotta of choice F)

    WTF!
  • qparadoxqparadox Vancouver, BC
    edited February 2005
Yep it'd be useful to see how the project is doing and see if certain machines are lagging.

A new colour scheme would be much appreciated. If you've got the time it would able be nice if it were sortable by column.

And a big thanks for putting this together and putting some of your hard earned drinking err reading time towards this!.

Thanks for the input guys...anyone else?

I may have found a really easy way to make it sortable by column, so that'll likely be in there.

As for history, what would you guys like to see:
Points + WUs per week for the past n weeks?
Points + WUs per day for the past n days?
    other suggestions would be good.

Right now, the sky is pretty much the limit...but if you want something I can't do, I'll gladly shoot you down ;)
