See if there are any compatibilty issues with any of the said hardware or any problems you would like to warn me about them. Or you could just comment about your experience with any of the hardware, whether it be positive, neutral, or negative.

All products bought from newegg if they do not say Already have

CASE: ANtec Performance PLUS Model PLus 1080AMG- with Antec Original TRUE 430W P4 compatible power supply ATX12V Retail.--$106
Reason for Purchase: Uh... basicly i need to get a very nice power supply to power everything in this system. I've got good experiences with Antec psu's. I got a 480 one in my system and a 430 in a system i put together for a friend. I need this to kickass on the voltage for my p4c. I don't want to underpower this and desire perma-stability.

Heastink + FAN: Zalman CNPS7000-Cu Pure Copper CPU Cooler for AMD XP Socket 462 & 754 and Intel Socket 478.--$42
Reason for Purchase: Rumored to be a very good heatsink. I've heard of people getting very good overclocks on it, it's really heavy, copper, and i just want to try something different as i'm disappointed with the slk 900 in my system. Only drawback is the fan on it, but i'm sure there is some way around that. Or maybe something makes up for it. SLK900's are always out of stock at newegg as well.

Floppy Drive: Sony 1.44MB 3.5 Inch Internal FDD Drive-OEM--$8
Reason for Purchase: Even though most people say they're obsolete. I still have a need for them and i don't want to waste a cd just to transfer my english paper from home to school.

Memory: Buffalo Technology 512MB 6 Layer PC3700 DDR Memory Module 32x8 (Winbond Module), DDR466-512- OEM--$99
Reason for Purchase: Good reviews. Good chips (*crosses fingers for bh5's). Good ocing memory. Good price. Pc3700 will provide nice headroom for the p4c's fsb and at the price of quality pc3200 why not.

CPU:
Intel Pentium 4 / 2.4CGHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Technology 800 MHz FSB - Retail--$171
Reason for Purchase: A nice little toy to play with and oc. Will beat the crap out of thrax's machine at 3.2 ghz. Overclocking a processor by 800 mhz is typical with these cpu's.

Video Card Albatron GeForce 4 TI4680P TURBO (NVIDIA GeForce4 TI4200 GPU TURBO Version), AGP8X 128MB DDR, DVI+VGA TV-Out. w/DVI adaptor Part# TI4680XP--$ 149
Reason for Purchase: Need a nice cheap card to just fufill a temporary purpose until i can get a 9800 XT or the next gpu ati puts out. Should overclock nicely with it's 3.3ns BGA DDR Ram. Has ti4600 pcb. Fast card.

Hard Drive Western Digital 120 GB Special Edition 8 mb cache 7200 rpm IDE. Already Have
Reason for Use: Already have sitting around from when i bought 3 when WD had the insane rebates during winter. Out of all 3 this was the only one not put into my new system. Fast drive, large capacity, free (no further purchases required).

Motherboard Abit IS7 865PE Chipset Already Have
Reason for Use: Has been sitting on top of my monitor since July, when I traded my audigy 2 for it in preparation of building a system. After flashing the bios PAT will be enabled. Cheap, yet stellar performance. Good overclocking board made by one of my favorite companies.

Monitor: Still searching for one. This computer will be my dad's. He runs his own consulting engineer company and is currently using a p4 1.7 with a 17" crt and a 2.4 laptop with a 15" lcd for auto cad. So i would like to find him a nice 19 or 21 inch crt, without spending too much. Larger the resolution the more space he could have, otherwise i would have to purchase dual lcd's, but i don't think i want to do that, as it will cost much dolares.

Final Cost: $599.00

    For $150, get a 9500 or something...

Hrm... i'd have to shell out an extra $30 for a 9500 non pro (red pcb) Last guy who bought one (9/11) said it was soft-moddable.

Just keep in mind that even if it weren't softmoddable, you'd still have a DX9 card, vs. DX8.1...

Well the main reason i went with the ti4680 was:
    a) just wanted to buy from newegg, newegg doesn't sell 9500 pro's or non pro's
    b) 9600 pro's are more than $150
    c) but now that i think about it, it would be wiser to purchase one of these. Then later on wheni pick up my 9800 pro or > card then i could probably sell this card for a large amount on [H], Rage3d, Guru3d, iCF, or here (if it's softmoddable).

I think you've made a very good balance of parts selected and procured, with only two dissenting views:

    - not a big deal here, but too bad you already have the IS7. The IC7 and IC7-G (875 Chipset) are slightly higher end. The IS7 is still a 9 out of ten on the stability an performance scales

    - See if you can find a 9500 Pro instead of the nVidea. There are still a couple vendors with them in their stock.

As far as 3dmark is concerned, a p4 won't beat my system until around 3.6-3.8GHz. And even then, I don't know why you're hell bent on beating me...Geeky already did so, and Mackanz will smoke all of us in a VERY short time (2.7GHz Athlon XP on Prometia w/ 250MHz FSB).

*Sings* He's got hiiiiiigh hopes, he's got hiiii-iii-igh hopes, hiiigh apple pie in the skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hopes.
