Just wondering what firewall program you guys use if you do?

    If we are talking about hardware firewalls now, I use my DLINK DI-624 with the july firmware revision, port 113 stealthed, and of course, the most strict rule set.

    Just any firewalls.....hardware or software.

    Dedicated system running astaro (Linux based) firewall. Easy to setup, free, and runs rock solid. :thumbsup:

    McAfee, The one that comes with MSN Premium, I wouldnt recomend it because before i wasnt able to access the network folder on this comp from another comp on my network, took me 2 months to figure out that i wasnt doing anything stupid and that it was the firewall that was blocking anyone else to view any folder that are on my PC. Also if i want to host a server on HALO, i have to disable it (took me 2 months to figure that one out to). I guess that is good for a firewall to do, but i think its to much.

    Router DMZ'd to my server which then runs IPTables (firewalling + control) and IPRoute2 (packet conditioning).

    After Sygate's death (which makes me really sad, stupid Symantec) I found Outpost Firewall Pro to have a good set of features. 30-day trial, I might buy it yet...

    Zone alarm--free version
    Most people say it is better than win xp firewalll because it scans outbound data and windows firewall only inbound

    Installing a firewall if you don't entirely know what you're doing makes things much worse (you end up locking out necessary things).

    Yes, if you're behind a router or on Dial-up, don't bother with one :P

    ;D That's what I thought, on dial-up I wasn't to worried, but I got cable about a week ago and another router is on order. (mine died) that's why I was asking.
