I figure I should get around to introducing myself, as I've actually been folding for Team 93 for a couple months now. My name is Ben. I am a Biometrics Support Specialist for a hospital group in Cincinnati, OH, which is also where I currently live.
I was brought here by a few longtime friends who frequent Icrontic. You might know them (Ghoosdum, CB, Crazy Joe, Zanthian, sharkydart) . Anyways, I figured while I was here, I might as well make myself useful and do some folding.
Well, I kind of just happened to stumble into this part of the forum and well.... Found out what folding was! Sounds like a good idea since my comp is running 24/7 anyway. *Cheers* :smokin:

Maybe I'm slightly too late but I decided to post anyway.
My name is Ian Hooi. I'm chinese, 19 and I live in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
I'm an airline pilot in training with an airline called AirAsia. Due to start line training on the Airbus A320 in a couple of months time. If you ever fly with them give me a shout. I have a CPL, a frozen ATPL (I don't know what it's called over there, Americas FAA has funny names for almost everything) and an Instrument Rating. Got about 200 hours under my belt, I know that might sound shocking to those of you who know about flying but thats just the way things work down here.
I play Dawn of War and COD4. The Nazi Zombie map in CODWAW is fast becoming a fad over here, and so is Left4Dead. I play those too. It's been a little dream of mine to play Doom 3 since it came out, and with some help from Icrontic forumers, I got myself up to speed on the hardware market and went out and bought a new PC. So I'm playing Doom 3 now. :P
Currently running the GPU2 and SMP clients on a Q8200 and HD4850 under Vista (After ALOT of help from ALOT of people here) 24/7. Hope to start a big time folding farm soon once my pay scale gets bumped up.
Howdy, Im Darryl Pruett, 25, currently in South Dakota.
I take care of my fiance of six years pretty much full time, four years ago new years night she lost the ability to walk, I just thought she was drunk, turns out its severe multiple sclerosis. Since then I've lost my house, my cars, everything of value I could pawn paying for her meds, until we finally got her on disability. She's rejected every treatment, from chemo therapy, to plasma pharicis, to steroids, to avonex, rebiff, copaxone, so on and so forth, and has been in diapers since that first night. She's progressed downhill more and more these last two years, but at least with her finally getting onto disability, we dont keep ending up homeless, as with her 535 a month in disability, I've found us a semi-decent apartment, and with what I make, I've managed to keep us as stable as possible.
I work part time at a gas station, and spend the rest of the time, feeding her and dressing her and doin' what I can to take care of her. Spend alot of time online, and playing video games as they make good distractions from the daily dolldrums.
Brand new here at Icrontic, but I like what I see so far.
And currently.. folding is running.
Huzzah!
Welcome to Icrontic, Darryl. What games do you play?
Thanks K, n Robert n Everyone. ^_^
mas0n / Tiberius: Im just an all around gaming junky.
But my real loves are flight games, RTS's, and FPS's.
Played alot of BF1942 and BF:V online, in the past, the halos, Starcraft was one of my favorite games of all time, cant wait for two.
Also play WoW, and in the past played EQ for a few months, got to 70 on Tunare, raiding with my shadowknight, and after talking to alot of my buds, Will probably be trying out EVE Online. Nasty PVP + Indepth complex system =
Cant wait for the new rig, so I can try out some of the newer FPS games, as my current rig is terrible fail, and to top it off, after about 8ish years of beating the poor thing up, my graphics card finally failed on me.
After readin' about on the forums, Im gonna have to pick up the orange box, as I've always wanted to try Tf:2. I love FPS's but only when you have a good team, that works together, backing each other up. Thats when games get good. When you strategize and play together, to me. Everyone running around kill farming gets a little boring after a while. XD
Anyways, Hope to play some stuff with you folks soonish, you'll all be seeing me going "Newbie building a PC, I FAIL! HELP!!" type stuff as soon as this barebones system gets here. XD
Name: Patrick Benjamin

I want to become a computer game designer and programmer. At the moment I'm terrible but I really hope to get better. I hear that the course is fun anyway.
I don't yet have any friends on Icrontic but I'm hoping to make friends. Of course everyone here is a million years older than me.
Don't worry patrick I am sure you will find yourself at home easily. Welcome by the way. We play WoW, TF2, and L4D as a guild most days; if you play those games come join us and get to know another part of our community..............................plus we always need new blood to invoke the gods to get free hardware to review.

That's pretty annoying seeing as those are the only steam fps' i don't have. I'll try and get them though
I am now folding for team 93! It took a full day of trial and error, but I am happy to contribute my feeble X2 5000+ to the cause!
Hello!! My name is Casey Clarke and you can find me just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee just off 75! I have my wife, Brittany, and my little girl, Gabi to keep me company. I enjoy my game time, golf, music, movies and the occasional glass of Cabernet
My post adolescent phase was spent in the Marine Corps were I was an airframes and hydraulics mech on CH-46’s. After 5 years and 2 tours, I moved back home to settle down but that took an additional 5 years. I am happy to say I am returning to college after a 10 year layoff and I’m a bit nervous, but it’s all good.
On the gaming side, I have owned many consoles from the Atari 2600 to the PS3. I didn’t get my first PC until 2002 and didn’t play my first game online until a couple of years later, Battlefield Vietnam. So needless to say I still get pwnd with alarming frequency. I currently play FSX and Sid Meier’s Pirates! on the PC. As for the PS3, it’s FEAR 2, CoDWaW, and LBP.
Welcome ledbetter, sorry for the delay I will say I was at Camp Swift over the weekend.
There are a lot of casual gamers here at Icrontic as well as some games being played that are kind of underground, we don't normally play them as a group or just one or two members play....but ask around. FEAR2 was sweet I can't wait for another one.
Thanks k! I'll look around for something that's my cup of tea. On a side note, is 12k good for a weeks worth of folding? I have no idea because there are some pretty outrageous numbers to try and catch.
12k a week is decent, generally we talk points per day(ppd). That is alright if you are folding on the gear in your profile. Anyone who has a ppd of 10k+ is usually using multiple computers. I have 2 dedicated folding machines, with 4 GPUs across both of them. But if you are interested in increasing your folding score talk your friends into and set it up under your name or building a current gaming rig(intel/nvidia).
Hi! I'm Marcus, a 22 year old currently between jobs.
Michael, aka _k_ convinced me to sign up here after telling me what icrontic was all about.
I have been around computers for as long as I can remember. The first computer I used was my dad's old commodore 64 and ever since then I've been hooked:D I've been building and repairing computers for about 8 years now and have been gaming on them for far longer. I play anything and everything nowadays but before it was mostly cs(1.5 and 1.6) for a good 4 years and wow for another 5. My other big hobby is audio equipment, specifically headphones, headphone amplification, and dacs.
I have been folding off and on for the past 3 years mostly under Anonymous but when I found out icrontic had a folding team going I had to switch:) Gotta GTX 280 and a Q9450 doing about 10-11k ppd and a E8400 and GTX 260 due to start folding any day now.
