Thought so. That's how I did it too. It'll work for now. However, those clips are technically supposed to go into the screw holes on the fan... But, if it works, it works...

how are they supposed to go INTO the holes??? looks like a solid piece to me..

    /me is puzzled

The little parts that stick down at the ends of the clip snap up into the top screwholes on the fan. Get you an 80mm or 92mm case fan and mount it on top and you will see what we are talking about.

The notches in the wire drop into the fan hole. Which is why technicaly, a 60mm fan won't work... it's not being held in place as securely as it should be. It can be done (as you've proven) but it wasn't intended to be done... the smallest clips for the slk-900 are for 70mm fans.

I have 60mm fans on my SLK900 & SLK600. The wires hold them down and the hole clips fit over the sides to prevent slidng. It works just fine.

Also BTW all of the SLK models are only 60mm wide. The 80 & 90mm fans actually blow a lot of air down the sides of the heatsink instead of through it.

I know it'll work... I've done it before myself. But technically they were never intended to use fans that small. But, like I said... if it works, it works. I'm inclined to think that a 50cfm Delta 60mm would perform better than a 50cfm 80 or 92mm fan on it anyhow...

Ordered 2 this mornin, and they will definitely have 92's on them. Hoping they will bring my temps down a little anyway. XP-2800+ =56C and T-bird 1.2= 67C. And I'll get a 3rd one for the Xp-2400+ I'm building if they are as good as reported.

Anyone know how to get the status on your order (weather or not it has shipped, etc) if buying from SVC (just bought a RED Enermax fan, and an SLK-947 from them last night)?

I bought my proc from them, and I recall being able to look up the order status. But, that was a few months ago, far beyond my memory's ability...

Just like most other online retailers they send you a confirmation of your order first then send another when it is processed. After that there is a link to your order with a link to UPS.

Ok, I guess I was mixing them up with Newegg and their web-based up to date order status thing.
