I sure as hell hope so crackityjones, the first one is up there with Half Life, GTA3 Vice City and Mafia in terms of what it has done for games.

The game gave me goose-pimples, the storyline was electrifying, I’ll be crossing my fingers with you bud :)

Be sure to check out any news and previews here at Icrontic when it arrives :)

i really really hope it will be swell. the first one is still probably one of the best games of all time in my opinion and i cant wait for the second to top it off. i know a lot of folks that were at E3 were skeptical because it didnt have a very strong presence. just the "fall of max payne" poster that i beleive is up at the mp2 website. anyway, i have no doubts that it will be one of the best sequels ever . . .

Have to admit I liked the story. Liked the comic style aproach and Max's over the top poetic style scene introductions. Added a unique feel to the game, made it more interesting.

the game was really good and im sure the second one will be alot better... for me the low point of the game was when he was drugged and walking aroudn in the dark following paths of blood... that really gave me a headache...

YEA! I had totally forgotten about that, was really weird, fair enough he was drugged or whatever, and they wanted us to feel his confusion, but it was feally frustrating. Esp when you could see the exit, and fell just before you got there.

yeah the dream sequences were really tough. my girlfriend ALMOST beat it without any help, but she did need some assistance in the second dream sequence and at the very end where there are the two guys with the grenade launchers at the end of the long, high hallway. i will also admit that i did enjoy the storyline. if you ever want some good laughs, check out the penny arcade comic on max payne, its hilarious and so so true . . .

I too LOVED the original... That whole dark New York junkie underground feel of it was just a superbly created atmosphere!!

I personally didnt like the comic book sequences between scenes, but then again I have never been a fan of comic books. And they were definately tollerable.

Those new screenys are lookin sweet, I dont however like Paynes new look. He looks too old in those pics. I mean whose that supposed to be Charles Bronson. They really should use his old look...more of a Bruce Willision Die Hard.

the first max payne was very enjoyable experience and it was something new in the way of presenting ,developing and finishing a story .
i think the comic book sequences with payne's narration gave a more dramatic feeling than if it was ingame/fmv cutscenes .

screenshots don't say a lot ,we need in game footage a la HL2 .maybe next E3 ?

I love the expressionless face on the guy standing nearby in the first pic. It's like he sees gun fights all the time :D

And thank god they got rid of the look of Payne's face from the first one.. That was the single bad thing about that game :D

They're story excuse will probably be that he had to have time to get through all the killing and the fact of losing his wife. Eventually he got over it and remarried or something.

I read that they will indeed have bullet time for this one. in addition, despite the fact that he looks a bit older in these screenies, it takes place one year after the first one ended. supposedly, he has a romantic interest that gets tied up in the story, so they are gonna try to play that angle into the plot as well. as for the ending, i think we have to look to the opening movie to see what happened. over the police intercoms, you hear them say something about "Officer in danger! Officer in danger!" Correct me if i am wrong, but i dont believe there were any more cops at the scene of the crime, so my assumption is that the officer they were referring to was good ol' max. i guess they finally understood WHY you had to go on a balls-to-the-wall killing spree all over the city, and that was, you know, cool with them. anyway, long story short, they were on there way there to protect max, only to arrive and realize that max had already pretty much mopped up . . .
