What's your thoughts on this mobo?

edited June 2003 in Hardware
I've got a bunch of parts here (XP 1900 and SD-RAM), and am just lacking the mobo to put together something for a relative (who doesn't need the latest). I came across this deal, think it's OK? If not, what's a good inexpensive SD-RAM mobo to throw in? Thanx.

Go get the ECS K7S5A Pro from Newegg for $47 shipped

It Uses SDRAM or DDR SDram (2 mem slots each) & has USB 2.0

    It's a wonderful little board!

Compgeeks doesn't have the best reputation in the world:

I'd also recommend a K7S5A Pro from Newegg.

Ive dealt with compgeeks, and the service was great.

Do as Omega suggested and get the ECS K7S5A Pro from Newegg. It is a very solid board that isn't quarky in the least. The other board is based on the old VIA KT133A chipset that gave everyone fits with incompatabilities and weird problems. I would never have recomended a board on the chipset then and there is even less reason to go with one today with all the other great boards around. That little ECS board is even upgradeable to an XP2400+ and you can put in DDR memory later if they want to upgrade. Just don't mix the memory types.
