I'm thinking of putting together a HTPC as part of my using up leftover hardware initiative.

Ive got a P3 1GHz, 512MB PC133, 40gig HD, crappy graphics card with TV out, and enough other stuff to make a system.

Seems a shame to waste the CPU when i could put it to good use.

Basically i need an FCPGA micro ATX board with an AGP slot.

Seen a Chaintech board that was pretty cheap, the CT-6VIA4. Are Chaintech boards any good?

I haven't ever used a chaintech but have heard that they make pretty good boards. Not a brand that you hear a lot about, like Abit or Asus. But I haven't heard any horror stories either, I'm sure another member will have a different opinion. I think though, on the old site that their nf2 board got a pretty good review.

chaintechs are good boards. they aren't always the fastest or most overclockable, but they are generally pretty reliable. they're good mainstream boards...

This is just gonna be a normal machine, no OC or anything. Think i might go with the Chaintech.
