    tx guys

    grrr...it's always me...me...always me...

    lol.

PS: What was your install order? Did you install 9.0 off the web or by the REDISTRIB file? Then upgrade to 9.0a through Windows Update then finally 9.0b?

Just trying to find out if it is the redistrib complete file or is there is an upgrade path that should be followed.

Damn drivers destroyed my WinXP install on my NF-7. BSODed in the middle of the driver installation, rebooted, said that one of windows' files is corrupt and to run a repair install. :banghead: :mad2:
The same exact thing has happened to me while installing keyboard drivers on a heavily overclocked machine. I think it has something to do with the install process in Windows XP, not necessarily the drivers themselves.

P.S. As it turned out, a repair install was not neccessary, but I went ahead and reinstalled/reformatted anyway just to be on the safe side.

In my case, ntfs.sys was corrupted. Windows restored to the uncorrupted file automagically and then verified that my master file tables had not been fux0red.

The nForce 2 machine I'm working on now, from fresh install, downloaded DirectX9.0b direct from Windows Update (only recently installed).

Haven't tested this out yet on my NF7, as well, I'm about 200 miles away from it, but I'll see what happens when I upgrade the nForce drivers when I get back this weekend. However, that PC, being near new, has also only recently been setup, so the installation of DirectX on that machine would have been straight from Windows Update, straight to 9.0b aswell.

    Cheers

Mine is working very well with the 3.13 drivers and DX 9b. I already had DX 9b on here when I simply installed the new drivers over top of the old ones. Oh these drivers really did wonders for my already great sound. It seems less likely to bog down on certain portions of some songs while folding and running PhotoShop-7. :):):)

I had DX9 from the start (off the web). I first made a restore point, then I uninstalled the nForce drivers, and rebooted. After the reboot, and Windows finished looking for drivers (I hit Cancel on all windows) I removed EVERYTHING else nVidia from the Add/Remove Programs window. Including some GUED... or whatever it's called, which aparently had to be removed seperatly from the nForce drivers. After I was done, Everything that had anything to do with nVidia was removes (or at least not showing up on Add/Remove).

    Then, I rebooted.

After Windows finished nagging more about finding drivers, and continuing to hit cancel on all windows, I installed the drivers (including the SW IDE ones) by running the exe.

Then I reset the computer again, installed the vid drivers, got my monitors squared awway, and that was it.

I found that installing DX9.0b driver AFTER installing 3.13 drivers caused havoc. If DX90b was installed prior to the 3.13 drivers all went well.

Now I did this from an image where NO NFORCE2 drivers were installed so I may caution that DX90b drivers should be installed prior to any NFORCE2 platform drivers.

    Hope this helps anyone.

Mediaman, I installed the 3.13s before anything else, including the DX9.0b package, and didn't have a problem.

The GeForce 4 is a video card. These drivers are not for video cards. They are for motherboards with nVidia nForce chipsets on them, so the answer to your question is "no they will not work"

You want this thread: Newest Video Drivers

These drivers are for motherboards based on NVidia chipsets that may (or may NOT) include integrated GeForce 2 MX / GeForce 4 MX graphics.

These NForce drivers include the Detonator 52.16 display driver for use only with the integrated graphics chips and are not for use with PCI/AGP/PEG 16x video cards. :)

These are chipset drivers, not video card drivers.

If you've got Win XP or 2000, these are the drivers you should use for your Ti4600:

If you've got Win 95, 98, or ME:
