Are you sure you didn't see it in related threads? O.o
Anyway, now that I got a letter in the mail from Charter about my free upgrade to 20Mbit, let's see what we get:
This is actually really amazing since now, in 2009, I'm paying the same as I did in 2002 for service. But in 2002, I was really happy with the 512/128 service I was getting (because it was the only game in town). Now, I'm more than 30x the speed of that. Not bad for 7 years.
Now if we can just get the gigabit that they have in some areas in Japan rolled out here. Then I'll REALLY be rockin.
see... Now you're just trying to confuse me. I see what you're doing there.
Ok, so it's entirely possible i saw it there, rather than in the hot section.

I hate myself...and feel much shame as I surf the web at INSANE speeds. Seriously though, the difference between the service and the quality of FIOS and cable/DSL is vast. I've used Time Warner, ATT, and Comcast and I can't recommend Verizon enough.
I can never get a consistent and correct speed for my bandwidth, however, I'm on 7Mbps/512Kbps on Road Runner (much better than the 1Mbps/384Kbps I got way back on Cox Cable - which was later upgraded to 4Mbps/384Kbps).
The Dallas (speakeasy) server on speedtest.net consistently gives me a speed of 15Mbps+/512Kbps, but the Ft. Worth server gives me a speed of around 4-5Mbps, but here is what my correct speed is:
For example, one of the tests from the Dallas server:

Heres my works, We have a OC3. (155megs)
They're upgrading my building in the next couple of months so things are only going to go up .
I'm on there cheapest plan too lol
On a symetrical 5mb fiber connection. It is damn amazing having a direct tie in to a backbone.
This.
Umm Time Warner contractor guy just left after setting up VOIP (digital phone). Interesting.....
The Gov't runs a fat pipe!
AT&T, apparently, does not. My home connection is barely adequate for Hulu and such.
