    Nightshade, 475 'sucks'?

    Try 14.

My dial-up's so slow, molassas running uphill in January beats it.

I think I could do better with two cans and a string.

Mine's so slow, when I'm connected the 'net won't even 'see' me.

I'm thinking of buying carrier pidgeons........:banghead: :bawling:

Yeah, 475 sucks. JANET is part of the entire backbone of the UK's internet system. It is on a 10/100Mb connection. So yes, 475kbps REALLY does suck.

The only problem with these bandwidth tests is that your results will vary depending on your proximity to the testing server, and how many hops you have to take to get from your ISP to it:

Did the same test from the same location, got 2919/349. Now that's more like it.

*Wonders what to do with that extra upload bandwidth*

These bandwidth measurements are severly flawed.

I've yet to see one score me over 5Mbps, when I'm connected to a unthrottled 100M port on a backbone.

    from Broadband Reports
Results from faster providers prove that these test stations work reliably up to 3-5mbit.

well, comcast did upgrade everybody to 3mbs now

    except me.:banghead:

    1243 kbps

my cable is so incredibly bad, someone uploading off of me at 10kbps makes me not be able to do ANYthing online (ie. load a webpage, pings = 1000 in any game, etc).:thumbsdow

shh, I only get 487, what the hell are you all moaning about. This is the best most people in the UK can get. 1MB and 2MB are unavailable to most places and cost a fortune :(

    at school on Earthlink: 3122kbps/360kbps
    at home on Comcast: 1760kbps/250kbps
my roommates on the complimentary RoadRunner bussiness connection: 628kbps/225kbps

One of my roommates and I decided 1000kbps wasn't enough for 11 people, thus we got cable on our own.
