Thank You to CBDroege - SM28_Shummy_Hewett

On July 18th, 2005, SM28_Shummy_Hewett (SM28) was announced and bequeathed to CBDroege. SM28's first Work Unit was cataloged on September 13th, 2005 and has struggled to earn 16,000 point. SM28's life was not easy and CB did an admirable job keeping it alive and folding. But, in the end, the hardware was just not what it should have been... :bawling: :sad2: :bawling: :sad2:
Today, we have asked that CB "pull the plug" on SM28. It will rise again someday. Will it be a quad Core? Dual Quad core? Who knows, but today I ask that we applaud CB for his hard work and dedication in the name of the SMx Project.

When another machine is put together, will CB be hosting it?
Right now, the SMx Committee is in the process of gathering all old and crappy rigs. This is the first of many SMx rigs that will be turned off over the next few weeks and months. We want a nice streamlined SMx project. If a rig is not able to turn in steady work units, it will be turned off and dropped from our watch list.
We will start to upgrade the oldest rigs first and work our way up the chain. The new rig will be a "HOT ROD" rig, probably a dual, maybe a quad core rig. It will cost too much to be able to offer many of these rigs per year. We will slowly start rebuilding the project.
As for CB... It would not be fair to make CB fight SM28's problems and know that his upgrade is probably years away. With the exception of a few long, long time hosts, when a rig is re-released, it will be up for grabs again. CB is more than welcome to put his name into the hat for SM28, or for any other rig for that matter. What CB did was outstanding... he took a pieced together machine and made it work. When it failed, we worked with him as best as we could to get it back up and running. All of our hosts deserve a stable and efficient folding rig.
Can't wait to hear of the next SM28
That's was your hosting rig so the No# SM28
should be the No# of your next hosting rig
Kind of like the Dale thing with No#8 in NASCAR
But he lost his No#, That wasn't right

Perhaps it will finally help me break the top 100 barrier :P
first choice at the SM28 if you chose to be a host for another rig for SMX.
Thank you for hosting and hope you host again.
