Thinking of switching over to linux just to give it a shot what the easiest one to install and use for a windows guy like me, Also take into account my drivers in my sig

Trying to game on Linux, L4d is a no go, It starts and i can play but Its like playing on a old vid card with settings all the way down, It just isnt smooth or nice at all. I did install the Linux Nvidia drivers but to no avail same thing

I agree with starting with ubuntu, but for a windows guy that just wants to get his feet wet and isn't sure about partitioning his drive yet, do a search on wubi. This will install ubuntu (or kbuntu) in a NTFS folder, and if you change your mind later you just uninstall it like a windows program later. Option two would be to load as a virtual machine using Sun xVM Virtualbox. Option three would be to just run it on the live cd (not being able to add new packages)

I managed to get TF2 to play, along wit WoW. That said, I wouldn't recommend it if your intention is to play games with it. Your best bet is to dual boot for that, as Wine is always going to be behind the times.
