Still down... unless I've been particularly unlucky with my timing, seems like it's been down for over 12 hours now. I guess they must be working on a pretty big update.
Still down. Hopefully they are actually fixing some major issues with the multiday downtime and not something like they forgot to pay their hosting bill
It would be nice if I got a consistent answer for why I couldn't log in. One minute, it's "the login server is busy" then it tells me it's down for schedules maintenance.
Yeah if it was "scheduled maintenance" then why weren't we notified Seems more like the servers went down over the weekend and no one was there to bring them back up.
So is the game only available during the business day of california? It was down again last night and this morning. Makes it hard to test when i can only play during work hours.
I got in once on Monday, that's it. There's a ridiculous amount of downtime at the moment.
Pretty sure if you applied for the forum last week then you should be in by now... maybe the confirmation email just didn't come through. Have you tried logging in anyway?
Yeah i have requested confirmation of the downtime by the staff, but i haven't seen a post by an employee in a while. Guess they are busy dealing with the downtimes.
Game's currently up. I also noticed that the numbers vs. the barbs have evened out.
My scientists were never happy, so I moved them to the middle of the woods far away from everyone else, but with about three trees adjacent to them. Now they're loving life even though they have to walk through a forest for a really long distance to get to the library.
Thanks to all our players in Alpha Waves 1 and 2 for your enthusiastic play in this round of games. The excellent feedback you have been sharing here in the forums and by email has been wonderful -- all of us here at Firaxis, and Sid in particular, have found and continue to find this mightily helpful. In fact, we have a new version based on your responses almost ready to go, and we're very excited about some of the sweeping changes it includes. That version is undergoing final testing right now, it should be ready within days. As soon as we can, we will update the servers and inaugurate new games for everyone.
Until that time, unfortunately, the games will remain down. We sincerely apologize for the wait, but we're confident you'll find it worthwhile when you see the new updates. In the meantime, please continue to share your experiences with us here on the forums -- every comment helps make CivWorld the game you want it to be! Watch for a new letter and new post from us when the time comes for the next round.
Thanks again,
Your Friends at Firaxis
Also, not meaning to rub it in the faces of those who haven't gotten into the forum yet, but one of the coolest things about being an alpha tester so far, is getting to communicate directly with Sid (who is still involved heavily in the project, despite his name coming off the title). I hope you all get the opportunity soon to post on the boards and help with the development of the game, since they really seem to be paying attention to what the Alpha testers have to say, and I know our team will have lots of good suggestions.

EDIT: I've emailed the board admin address, maybe that'll fix it.
And I know I applied for the forum before Lord P, and I haven't been accepted. But since I can't get into the game... No loss, I suppose.

I guess that is why they call it Alpha.
