    Do I have to download v1.4? I have downloaded it, but noirmally it just updates to the latest version on its own as far as I can remember...

    \Edit - I downloaded v1.4 and put it into the correct folder and it's working on v1.4 now.

    Added to whitelist. The server should be current on 1.5, so there shouldn't be any reason for a 1.4 client.

    I keep getting "connection refused: connect" when I try to connect to minecraft.ardichoke.info:25565

    Any suggestions?

    \Edit - Do I have to install certain mods before I can join on multiplayer? I'll have a look around the forums when I get home from work to see what I need to do.

    Nope, no client side mods are needed. The server logs don't even show you as having reached the server. Very strange. I'd suggest trying to ping the server. If you can't, do an nslookup on the hostname and see if it resolves properly for you. If it does, drop me a message with your public IP (http://whatismyip.com) and I'll see if you're being blocked somewhere.

    you dont have to have mods to join the server, but once you get on, I highly recommend ZAN's mod, as it gives a map, NSEW directions, and co-ordinate points in a far easier to understand way than F3.

    I'm behind a corporate Microsoft ISA Firewall and the only way Minecraft can connect to the net is if I turn on the Microsoft Firewall Client.

    Do you think this could be causing my connection error, seeing as I never actually managed to hit the server?

    Yep. The firewall client may allow certain points to go out, but Minecraft aint one of them.

    I'll also vouch for Kyle. He's a good kid, and he won't do anything untoward. He read the rules.

    That's cool, but the rules don't require a vouch for Icrontic regulars, and both are. I think Snark added EMT already and is just waiting for Kyle to post his username for Minecraft. ;)
