Man, I want to run a half marathon, but I won't do it at Expo. Too much going on. We've talked about it in the past, but it's just too packed.
You should do the Huntington Beach half marathon with me. The medal is a mini surf board. You're a Californian now... this is the next step.
That's what mornings are for... or all-nighters... @_k_ and I were out at about 9am last year and got a smooth (for him... less smooth for me) 10 miles in before the rest of the crew even woke up... then we should hit a local diner, slam some pancakes and a 1/2 pound of bacon, go back and LAN til our eyes bleed... we're supposed to pack it in... that's what the Expo is all about!
This was at like 1pm... nothing was going on then... you just needed a 5 Hr. Energy and you'd be set to go... regardless, I'll be ready for the 10+ miles this year... I'm already doing back-to-back 11 milers on weekends and will probably be up around 17-18 mile long runs by June-July... Hopefully we can get a few more people in... but we could always just do a 5 miler and those that want to continue can keep pushing for more if needed...

I had a very strange dream about Expo and ICHQII last night. @Myrmidon and @Cannonfodder were there... along with A LOT of other people. We were given back packs full of crayons and were told to design a Minecraft map. Also, the inside of the house looked like the grand staircase from the Titanic.
More excited about June than ever, gentleman.

Getting on it, need to get my dad to contact you still.
Once he's on board I'll grab my ticket and arrange transportation with Via Rail.

@primesuspect, I am still waiting for Graduate school exam schedule for the summer.. Nothing like friday/monday exams.. *crosses fingers* that I have expo weekend free from study punishment. Should know in a couple weeks
Actually, yes. @Lincoln was already discussing a scheduled tour so that everybody who wants to see it can all go at the same time to do a walk-through.
Gar, I really want to go, you're only an hour or so away... But I have no laptop (not lugging my desktop around) and it'd be hard for me to get transportation, since I walk practically everywhere.
This is awesome, and I hope you guys have fun! but this also sucks on a personal note, as I will be unable to attend.

Computer = not necessary to have an amazing time at Epic
If 1 hour there and back transportation is the only other thing holding you up... don't let it. You will miss out on an amazing experience over not asking a buddy to give you a ride or researching some public transportation.
Yeah well, we'll see what happens. I don't know if I'll have work that day or not.

Some people stay the week, but real core is a weekend. Good luck, I live in Florida and can't afford airfare and don't drive....

Lots of people haven't registered yet. Come on, folks!
Budget troubles. It was looking like I would be able to, but between computer parts dying, needing to buy expensive programs, and a potentially LARGE increase in tuition, all that extra money is looking like it's not enough.
So wait, in total it'l cost $52.50 USD (roughly) for me to attend, not counting other expenses?
Sorry but I'm going through one of those months where I'm having a hard time affording anything to eat (you try making a ramen packet last a week) I don't think I could make this, no matter how badly I want to.
The cost is ticket + housing + food, all other things are option expenses. Your food cost is determined by what you eat and housing is varied, presuming you are not commuting daily (which I don't think is what BobbyDigi had in mind when he said asking for transport from an hour away)
Hehe well, I doubt I'll be able to attend the entire thing (I'm seriously broke, one missed rent payment from homelessness) but I still might drop by if you'll have me. Just expect me to be one helluva miser
I'm not sure how to put this without sounding like a jerk, but the Expo Icrontic is more like a con: You can't really just "stop by"; it's a four-day event that requires a ticket for access.
Any other Icrontic event, yes But Expo, not really.
