For all the high tech gadgets I own, my latest watch is the thing that most fascinates me most. I can just sit there and watch the mechanical magic happen, and I find the ticking soothing for some reason. skeleton watches.
This is a neat watch. Are there any recommendations for a similar style watch that is reasonably priced?
The original muslin fabric used to keep the Wright Flyer aloft back in 1903 is actually in the care of the Wright family who've provided a section of it to Bremont to include on each of the 300 pieces of the limited edition Wright Flyer watch. In return, proceeds from the watch will be donated to help restore the Wright Brothers' original home in Dayton, Ohio and turn it into a museum.

So, my friend gave me this watch. I thought maybe the watch thread might like to see it.
It's lined by small diamonds are either side, and has the word "Croton" written across the mother of pearl face. It seems like rather a fancy watch. I looked it up online using the serial number, and it would appear that my assumption is correct. Though I don't really know how to wade through the information to discern between hype and truth. Anyone know anything about the brand?
Also, it's just a very pretty watch. It looks pretty snazzy on my wrist.
Croton is a brand that used to be respected, but is now owned by a Chinese brandholder turning out schlock. Depending on when this watch was made, it could be a beauty or a bum.

Ah, got it. That's the info I was looking for. Hard to tell how old it is, but it's at least a few years from what my friend says.

Either way it's pretty, and if it looks good on your wrist it looks good on your wrist.
Any of you that are members of Huckberry (or willing to sign up with them, as they have some good deals), they've got a decent looking line of watches on there right now: https://huckberry.com/store/avi-8

Good watches, generally well-reviewed. Prices are nothing to write home about, though.

You'll be able to find that watch 100% new with box/tags for <$90 on eBay if you wait.
It's the Stuhrling Classic Winchester.
That one was $85 on a Woot deal. The Googles turned up some decent deals too.
Is it a good watch and worth that price?
The one I got? Absolutely on both counts.
I would say $80-90 is an acceptable price for the materials.
Though, for $135, you can get the best skeleton watch for under $500 (imo). http://www.good-stuffs.com/Sea-Gull-M182SK-skeleton-watch-automatic_p_46.html
I like that one, but my preference is for the Stuhrling. To me the white edge disturbs the look.
I have the Seagull M182Sk, Would be a wise investment in my Opinion. I love mine
I still love my Vostok.
Yours has a little more puke on the band, IIRC.
Timex Weekender sale on Woot. I wear one of these every day, it's a good idgaf watch.
Casio solar-powered atomic watch on sale for $50 on Woot today.
SO I Had no idea this thread existed. SO HERE YA GO.

speaking of watches
Oh hey, you're alive.
No beard net?
"There's a face pube in my Runwell!"
They'd just market it as a bonus.
"Every Shinola Runwell comes with a real, locally-grown, Detroit face-pube"
It definitely is locally grown!
But is it organic?
